Emly Chilli - DCC

Image
This is a newly opened outlet in the Food Central in DCC and they invited me here to try out the food.  We started with a refreshing slush.  One of their speciality is the bun kebab. We had the shami bun kebab which is basically a soft flavourful kebab that is served to you inside a bun and was quite good.  The chicken tikka bbq biryani was really flavourful. The chicken as well as the rice in it tasted great.  The khawsa looked quite appealing. It has noodles, a curry, and is topped wit crisps. It was a bit tangy than what I've usually had. The gravy could have been a bit thicker.  View this post on Instagram A post shared by Udit 📷 [Famished Explorer] (@uditss) on Sep 29, 2020 at 7:48am PDT We also tried their chicken roll and it tasted good especially with the sauce on the side.  The service was a bit slow though.

Dum Biryani

If you're here, I'm sure you are a fan of biryani! Well, who isn't? My favourite is the chicken dum biryani and that's what I oredered here. It did have a good flavour to it, although it was a tad bit dry. If not for the dry bit, then it was great.  I tried the vegetairan paneer biryani too, and surprisingly I really liked it. The paneer was flavourful and tasted great with the rice and the masala.  They do have quite a wide variety of biryanis and perhaps I'll get a chance to try a few more of them sometime.

I'm a fan of Indian food and I always like to try it at new places. I was invited to try out the food here.  On a hot summer day, I started with the cool jal jeera . It was a tangy and bit sweetish too; the boondi added some crispiness to it.  For starters we had fish kali mirch . The fish was soft but it could have had a little more of the black pepper flavour.  The chicken bhoona kathi roll was pretty good though. It had a flavourful chunky pieces of chicken.  For the mains we had keema mutter . This is minced meat made in a spicy tomato onion gravy along with peas. It was good.  View this post on Instagram A post shared by Udit 📷 [Famished Explorer] (@uditss) on Sep 23, 2020 at 8:15am PDT What I enjoyed more was the mix veg handi which is a mixed vegetable in a spicy brown gravy. This was really flavourful. The dal makhni too was nice and creamy and tasted great.  We had this along with an assortment of Indian bre

Kobe Sizzlers - Umm Hurair

They've opened this outlet fairly recently and I was invited to try out their sizzlers here.  It's located on the first floor where they have a nice seating area, as well as a play area for kids.  We started with some soup. They have a soup called Scotch Broth. It is a mutton soup with a twist. I liked the mutton pieces in it and the broth tasted good too. It had a homely flavour to it.  For the appetisers, there was one of my favourite - dynamite shrimp . It had a nice spicy flavour to it.  One of the classics is the chicken lollipop . It was made well and the schezwan sauce along with it really accentuated the flavour.  Another starter which was really good here was the prawn koliwada . Definitely worth trying out.  For the drinks, they have fresh ice tea which I really liked.  Now moving on to the mains, they've got a good selection of sizzlers. I haven't seen too many places with fish sizzlers, but they do, and I had to order it.  I

Circle Cafe

We were looking for a nice cafe for some light snacks and came across this one as we were in the area.  I really liked the ambience of this one. We went during the day time and there was ample of natural light coming in; combined with the earthy colours of the cafe, it gave a nice vibe.  We started with a cappuccino . It had a nice art on it and tasted good too.  I ordered the chia power smoothie . It had chia seeds, almond milk, berries, honey, yogurt, and some vanilla syrup. I totally loved this one. It was healthy, refreshing, and filling too.  For a light bite, we ordered an egg dish. Unfortunately we found a strand of hair in it and pointed it out to them. They apologised profusely and took it away immediately. They asked if we'd like it to be replaced with any other dish and we chose the Egg Royale. As we waited, they got us some crisps to munch on.  The Egg Royale was delicious. Nice runny poached eggs just the way I like it, smoked salmon, and the holla

Fusion Amaravathi

This is a restaurant which serves food from Andhra Pradhesh and surrounding parts of India and they invited me to try out their food.  We started with the famous guntur prawn. It was flavourful and spicy. I really like this appetizer.  View this post on Instagram A post shared by Udit 📷 [Famished Explorer] (@uditss) on Sep 16, 2020 at 8:02am PDT Then we had the chicken 65 which was also quite good.  I was pleasantly surprised to see vegetarian starters like paneer 65 and baby corn chilli taste really delicious here.  Another item that you are looking forward to was the Nethili fry (anchovies). I'm not a big seafood lover but I did like these crunchy fish.  For the mains they have thali. It consists of a starter, curry, a dry vegetable, rasam, sambhar, rice, sweet and papad. It was pretty good.  They also have a vegetarian thali option.  We did try the gongura chicken curry too and it was good.  Lastly, we ended our meal with

Lalluji sweets

We were at Fusion Amravathi for a meal and there's Lalluji Sweets in the same outlet, so we tried some desserts too. The jalebis were being fried fresh right in front of us. These were nice and crispy. The kalakand was quite nice too. It could have been a tad bit softer. The r as malai had a nice kesar flavour. Something that caught my attention was the malai jamun . These are gulab jamuns stuffed with a green color malai based sweet in it. They looked really appealing, but I didn't quite like the way it tasted.
