Cravers Street - Goan street food and more

Image
The name itself had me craving for some good food and when I they invited me to try this place out I was eagerly looking forward. This is a restaurant that serves some Goan street food specialities. We started with the Ros Omelette . It literally mean omelette with gravy. The omelette was thick and served in a greenish gravy along with pav. It was my first time trying this out and I totally loved it. The gravy and the omelette tasted really delicious. Next was the chicken cafreal pav . I've had cafreal before but not inside a pav. This was a nice combination. The cafreal tasted good and along with the pav it made for a good snack.  Then we had the dynamite chicken pops . These are spicy chicken pops which tasted nice and meaty. They were a bit on the spicier side which I liked. Although, it didn't taste like the "dynamite" flavour that I had in mind.  They've got some momos too and we tried the chicken tikka momos . It was interesting to see chicken tikka inside a...

Desi Wings

Image
This is a brand that specializes in chicken wings as you must have guessed from the name, but what's interesting to know is that their wings are baked! They invited me to try out the various wings that they have. At the time of writing this, they have an eat-all-you-can deal for AED 49 valid from Sunday to Wednesday until the end of February 2021. There are four flavours included in this (listed below) and you can have unlimited quantity of each of these.  Sriracha - This was my favourite one of the lot. It's quite spicy but not the insane kind that will burn your tastebuds. It is really flavourful. Tamarind Chilli - This was my second favourite here. The menu mentioned that this one is spicy and I was curious. It is served with some red chillies on top which really complement the flavour well. Just the tamarin sauce itself tastes a bit sweet and I strongly recommend having it with the chillies. Honey Mustard - Although I'm usually not a fan of sweet flavours for savoury...

Chicken Cottage - Business Bay

Image
These guys have some really good chicken. They've just opened this outlet recently and it has contactless dining. You can order through Chatfood right at the restaurant.  There are a few tables indoor as well as few outdoor which would be nice to sit during winters as it is beside the canal. We started with the grilled chicken burger meal . We chose the peri peri as our sauce. This burger was delicious. The sauce really got out the flavours and I loved it.  The french fries along with the meal were chunky and crispy just the way I like it. Next we had the bbq wings . The bbq sauce had a nice flavour but I found it to be a bit thicker than usual making the consistency a little stickier.  The cottage wrap was not bad. The taste was good enough although it could have had a little more filling in it. Overall the food was quite good.  The parking here is a bit of a pain. The baywaters tower doesn't have free parking at all. One option is to park in the RTA parking...

Yalla Momos

Image
So much has changed about this place since the last time I visited a very long time ago. They invited me to try out their newly launched items.  They have some really interesting items in their menu. A lot of variations and fusion momo options which are truly out of the box. There's something for everyone's palate. Perhaps my favourite were the Chilli cheese mushroom momos in schezwan sauce . I totally loved the Chinese flavour that it had to it.  The chicken momos in dynamite sauce were lip-smacking.  If you're a fan of butter chicken, they also have the butter chicken momos . The gravy on top really adds a lot of flavour.  If you're a fan of tandoor items, do check out the tandoori chicken momos .  I was pleasantly surprised to see sizzlers in the menu. The sizzlers contain momos along with a choice of rice or noodles. It's a nice combination.  Usually momos lack crunch, but they've come up with an interesting item called kurkure momos . These are...

Urban Fusion Cafe

This is a delivery review.  I ordered some food from here via the Zomato app.  The ultimate veggie burger was good enough. I liked the flavourful patty. It could have been a bit more saucy though.  I took the add-on fries with the burger. The fries were totally soggy by the time they were delivered and I didn't like them at all. The other item that I had was the masala noodles. These were average. I did expect some more vegetables in it, and some more spices too.  It was the delivery time that I had a major issue with. I placed the order at 9:06pm. The estimated delivery time was 45 mins (which is still a bit on the higher side considering my delivery location was Mankhool). I called them after 45 mins and they said that the driver is on the way and I should get it within 15 mins. After 15 more mins (totally 1 hour), I called them, but they didn't pickup the phone despite calling multiple times.  Finally after a total of 76 mins (from the time...

312 - Burgers and more

Image
312 eatery is basically a burger place which serves some good food.  We started with the Bangin' buffalo chicken sandwich . They make the crispy chicken patty in a red sauce. The sandwich tasted saucy and nice.  View this post on Instagram A post shared by Udit [Famished Explorer] (@uditss) on Mar 5, 2020 at 8:15am PST The other burger was the piping hot cheddar burger . While ordering this, the waitress told us that this is "super super super spicy". Since I love crazy spicy, I opted for it. This was really good, and it was spicy for a burger, but not something that I'd describe as really spicy. It did taste great.  The jalapeno poppers are one of my favourite sides. Have them while they're hot as the melted cheese starts to harden up soon and it won't taste as good then. Tasted nice with the ranch sauce on the side.  We had three pieces of chicken tenders too. These were quite nice, but perhaps a little smaller wou...
