Bidaya - healthy cafe

If you're someone who is into health and fitness, you'll love this place. It is located inside Gravity Calisthenics Gym where I was invited to check out their food.  We started with a smoothie called Berrylicious which is made from strawberries and blueberries. I'm a fan of berries and this smoothie tasted great. It is also very low on calories. The other smoothie that I tried was called Leila . It is made from Nutella and banana and although I'm not a fan of banana, this actually did taste quite good. It is a quite high in calories though and usually had as a meal itself. For fans of peanut butter, the Peanut Butter Bomb is a shake worth trying. We then tried their healthy sandwiches . The mushroom one and the beef one was really good. The chicken sandwich wasn't too bad either. These were lightly toasted. For their salads, there was an interesting spicy beef salad . It's got a lot of veggies and beef. It is served along with a sauce with a hint of a Tabasc...

Tasting Bay

This is a healthy restaurant and I've recently started having healthy food so I've taken a liking towards it. A friend of mine invited me here and I was excited to check out the restaurant.  The ambience is nice and has earthy green and brown colours although it's not a very big place.  While we waited for our food, we munched on some makhana (lotus seeds / fox nuts) which is a nice touch.  We had a refreshing drink - the Summer Cooler . This one is watermelon based with a twist of mint. Perfect for this hot weather.  A classic starter is the Tandoori chicken . This one was served with mint chutney and was just average though. It could have had more flavour to it.  Dabeli is one of my favourite Indian street snacks, and they have the Black Dabeli here. They basically use black pav with the dabeli masala inside. The taste itself was really good, although a little different from what I imagine for a dabeli. Also, the pav wasn't as hot as expe...

Acai Nation

Image
I've taken a liking towards health food recently, and was looking forward to some Acai, when these guys offered to send it over for a review.  You can choose between a bowl and a jar, along with various customization options.  I opted for the build your jar which is a totally customizable option. I chose the Pure Acai along with the blueberry blend . For the seeds, there are quite a few choices and I opted for the more traditional one - Granola . There are a lot of extra toppings which you can chose and I added some pomegranate and Greek yogurt .  View this post on Instagram A post shared by Udit 📷 [Famished Explorer] (@uditss) on Jul 26, 2020 at 8:46am PDT The delivery arrived well before expected time and I could only have it after I got back home.  Most of the times I've had Acai freezing cold, but this time since I had waited for a bit, it wasn't freezing by the time I had it and I really liked the taste. The pomegranat...

Under 500 - DIFC

I've eaten at their other outlets and totally loved the food. This time I ordered in. If you're looking for healthy food that also tastes great, the this is the place to order. Also, my family is vegetarian, so this is a vegetarian review . I'm a fan of their lentil soup . It's totally different form the lentil soup that we're used to having. The lentils are whole and it is a clear broth. It also has some kale in it, and while I'm not much of a fan, it does taste good in this. We ordered their vegetarian wrap -  they had just one option - the roasted root veg wrap . It's got zucchini, eggplant, sweet potato, red onions, feta cheese, spicy tahini dressing. The combination tasted great and was quite satisfying. For the mains, we had the spicy lentil ragu . This has puy lentils along with garlic, mushroom leek, tomato, and is served on wild rice. I really liked the texture and consistency of this. The wild rie tastes a bit different than regular r...

We were looking for some healthy delicious food and decided to order in.  We chose vegetarian options. They have some interesting vegetarian wraps. Falafel is something that most of us love, so you can't go wrong with the baked green falafel wrap . The warm and crunchy falafel tasted great.  For those who like a more European flavour, the Halloumi wrap is a great choice. It comes with some tomatoes in it too, and it tastes lovely. It doesn't have too many vegetables in it. The roasted cauliflower wrap is something that I was trying for the first time, and before having it I was a bit apprehensive. It tasted lovely when I actually had it though. It had creamy sauces in it which gave it a good flavour.  Last, but not the least, there was the vegan wrap . It has some guacamole, beetroot and a few other vegetables too. It felt a bit too healthy for me, but after a couple of bites, I really liked it.  We also called for an eggplant mosakka . It ha...

The Soul Bowl

This is a vegetarian review. The place delivers some nice healthy food, and offered to send me some for a review. My favourite item was the veg burrito bowl . It had a lovely combination of bell peppers, beans, eggplant, guacamole, sour cream, and rice. It was flavourful and healthy as well. The quinoa burger was interesting. The quinoa patty was really nice, although it isn't as firm as a regular patty. This, coupled along with the fact that the bun was chewy, made the burger hard to eat as it kept breaking and falling off. The flavour was not bad, but the texture could have been better. They have various Acai bowls and I had the brownie blast. I had the combination of brownies and Acai for the first time and it was really good. It was cold and sweet and I enjoyed having it. Last but not the least, I had the fruit fiesta smoothie which had a berry like flavour to it and was refreshing. The food is quite nice overall as well as healthy.

If you're looking for healthy and delicious food with a view of the Dubai skyline, then this is the place to be. I shot the below picture near the restaurant: View this post on Instagram A post shared by Udit [Famished Explorer] (@uditss) on Mar 6, 2020 at 2:30am PST This restaurant has a nice decor with seating indoors as well as outdoors.  They do not fry anything here, in fact, they said that they do not even have a fryer in the restaurant! We started with the cucumber lemonade . It had a really nice and refreshing taste to it.  The Greek frappe was not bad but could have been better.  They've got vegan options, and we tried the Guacamole Beyond Meat Burger . This had a vegan patty, cheddar cheese, and guacamole in it.  On the side were fries; these were air fried - they were 2 types - sweet potato, and beetroot.  The whole combination tasted really nice and is a treat for ...
