Lalluji sweets

Image
We were at Fusion Amravathi for a meal and there's Lalluji Sweets in the same outlet, so we tried some desserts too. The jalebis were being fried fresh right in front of us. These were nice and crispy. The kalakand was quite nice too. It could have been a tad bit softer. The r as malai had a nice kesar flavour. Something that caught my attention was the malai jamun . These are gulab jamuns stuffed with a green color malai based sweet in it. They looked really appealing, but I didn't quite like the way it tasted.

Acai Nation

Image
I've taken a liking towards health food recently, and was looking forward to some Acai, when these guys offered to send it over for a review.  You can choose between a bowl and a jar, along with various customization options.  I opted for the build your jar which is a totally customizable option. I chose the Pure Acai along with the blueberry blend . For the seeds, there are quite a few choices and I opted for the more traditional one - Granola . There are a lot of extra toppings which you can chose and I added some pomegranate and Greek yogurt .  View this post on Instagram A post shared by Udit 📷 [Famished Explorer] (@uditss) on Jul 26, 2020 at 8:46am PDT The delivery arrived well before expected time and I could only have it after I got back home.  Most of the times I've had Acai freezing cold, but this time since I had waited for a bit, it wasn't freezing by the time I had it and I really liked the taste. Loqmato - Arabic fusion dessert

Image
When I heard the name Loqmato, I could relate to it being something of an Arabic dessert, and was excited to see what is it when I was invited to try it out.  It is basically made from two words - Loqma (or Luqaimat which is an Arabic dessert) and the Cioccolato (chocolate in Italian), hence Loqmato which is exactly what the concept is. They basically have a Luqaimat which is injected with a flavour of your choice and then topped with some delicious sweet toppings.  You have four choices for injections: - Chocolate - Crema (which is a bit like profiteroles) - Caramel - Cheese There are a wide variety of toppings to choose from.  They also have some pre-set combinations in the menu which taste really nice and we tried these.  Loqmato White : Crema injection; topped with white chocolate hot sauce and Oreo. This is for those who like the Oreo flavours and the sweetness of the white chocolate. It also had some coconut on top.  View this post on Insta

Lassi Day

Image
We were looking for something cold to drink and came across this place.  They have a lot more options than just lassi.  I chose the regular sweet lassi. It was really thick. So thick that the straw seemed a bit narrow to sip from. It was nice and col to have, and the sweetness was right too.  We also had a mixed juice - the carrot, apple, and pineapple. It had a nice concistency to it and felt fresh.  It is a small place but since we were the only ones there, it did not feel crowded.  Follow me on Instagram  to know about great places and food in Dubai.

Kulfilicious - Al Majaz

Image
I'm a fan of selective Indian desserts, and kulfi is one of them. Kulfilicious has recently opened their new outlet in Sharjah and they invited me to try it out. The place, albeit small, has a colourful decor and you get the desi feel as soon as you enter. They have a couple of tables down, as well as a few upstairs. We sat upstairs and we were the only ones that day. I think the place might feel a bit cramped if there are more people.  I saw some really interesting flavours, and wanted to have them all. Finally, with the help of our friendly server Saheb , we settled down on four.  I think the flavour which I went crazy over was the black pepper . I was a bit surprised to see a kulfi in this flavour, and just had to try it out. It has crushed black pepper, and you might not feel it at the first instance, but wait for a couple of seconds, and you totally get the flavour. The black pepper lingers in your mouth for a while. If you like black pepper, you definitely have t

Conestreet

Who doesn't love desserts, right? This is a gelato parlour located in JBR walk. They also serve some sorbets.  It is a small place, but I really liked it since the staff was courteous. Our server Lakshmi helped us with the flavours.  We had the special of the day - Nutella with mascarpone cheese . The two flavours together complemented  each other very well. It was not overly sweet; it was creamy. The other gelato that we had was a combination of two - the tiramisu and the caramelized bisquit . Tiramisu in the form of a gelato was something interesting and it tasted great. Along with that, the caramel tasted quite sweet. Overall, we enjoyed this one too.  We also had a sorbet - the s trawberry flavoured. Sometimes these simple flavours also don't fail to impress you. It was not overly sour and that's what I liked.  They also have some nuts to munch on, in case you've had a sweetness overload.  You can have some coffees here as well. I had the Amer

Choco Monarch

Image
You need no guessing that this place is all about chocolate. I was invited here recently to satisfy my sweet tooth.  We ordered some shakes to start with. There was the monster milkshake (pictured below) which was pretty good, but me personally being a fan of Oreo, I liked the Oreo milkshake more.  Another sweet milkshake is the caramel frappe which is quite sweet as you must have guessed.  For fans of pain perdu (french toast), they've got a big one with ice-cream. The over-powering cinnamon it in can be a deal maker or a deal breaker. I'm not much of a cinnamon so I didn't quite devour it.  Order a chocolate pancake and it comes loaded with chocolate. The pancakes are soft and it is a treat for chocolate lovers. If you like some fruits alongside, then go for the choco monarch pancake .  View this post on Instagram A post shared by Famished Explorer [ UDIT ] (@uditss) on Aug 28, 2018 at 4:00am PDT Next we tried their stra
