Chicken Cottage - Business Bay

Image
These guys have some really good chicken. They've just opened this outlet recently and it has contactless dining. You can order through Chatfood right at the restaurant.  There are a few tables indoor as well as few outdoor which would be nice to sit during winters as it is beside the canal. We started with the grilled chicken burger meal . We chose the peri peri as our sauce. This burger was delicious. The sauce really got out the flavours and I loved it.  The french fries along with the meal were chunky and crispy just the way I like it. Next we had the bbq wings . The bbq sauce had a nice flavour but I found it to be a bit thicker than usual making the consistency a little stickier.  The cottage wrap was not bad. The taste was good enough although it could have had a little more filling in it. Overall the food was quite good.  The parking here is a bit of a pain. The baywaters tower doesn't have free parking at all. One option is to park in the RTA parking...

If you love delicious burgers and are willing to let go off your diet, then this is the place to go.  The place has a casual and rustic look and the location is great too.  They have some interesting burgers and I wasted them all. I finally settled for the Cuban burger . This is a new addition to their menu. The burger uses prime meat and has smoked brisket in it. The soft smokey flavour of the meat will definitely make your mouth water. The burger also has smoked Swiss cheese, turkey ham, chimmichurri sauce, and Cuban mustard sauce. You want to go have it already, don't you? All burgers also come with a side of fries (regular / sweet potato). There are various wings too, and we tried the spicy Korean bbq wings . The wings were juicy and flavourful; topped with the sweet and spicy bbq sauce, sesame seeds, and served with their buttermilk dressing on the side. Definitely recommend trying these.  We then had the atomic shrimp which is similar to dynamite sh...

Ketch Up

This place has a 'katchy' name, and as you must have guessed, this place primarily serves burgers, fries, and other fast food items. It is a really nice place in bluewaters island and my friend invited me here to heck it out. They have seating outdoors beside the water, as well as an indoor seating.  We started with the grilled avocado with shrimps and spicy sauce . I'm not a big avocado fan but I really liked the grilled avocado. The shrimp was crispy and the spicy sauce made it taste delicious.  Then we had the cheddar cheese sticks with cranberry sauce . It didn't have as much of a cheese pull, and tasted average. Also, I personally didn't like the cranberry sauce with it much. I had it with regular ketchup! They have soups too, and one of the cold soups caught my attention. It was called okroshka . This is a cold slavic soup with laban base. It had little cubes of met in it and a mild flavour of wasabi. I thoroughly enjoyed it.  For the burgers, w...

In the mood for some wings, we decided to check this place out. They aso have a 1+1 offer for Liv bank /travellers app. We decided to go for two combos or the 6 piece chicken with fries and a drink. You can choose a mix of boneless and the regular wings, and 2 sauces with eah combo. I really liked the mango habanero . The mango tastes really good, at the same time it is extremely hot. The hickory smoked bbq was nice too with a smokey flavour and the bbq sauce.  The original hot was okay. It is spicy if that's what you want, but an average flavour.  A step ahead of this one is the atomic . Have this at the end if you choose this because it is so hot that you do not get enough flavour of any of the other since it is that spicy. Not for the faint hearted.  The person at the counter could have smiled a little.

I've been to their outlets but mostly had the dessert. This time we had the savoury stuff. We started with some wings. We had a mix of the buffalo wings and the boneless ones in their spiciest sauce. These were saucy and juicy, and were served with blue cheese dip on the side. The monster chicken sandwich was delicious too. It was huge and cheesy. It is more filling than it would look from the picture. We got it cut into two since we were sharing and it was loaded inside. The creamy parmesan chicken was okay. It was a tad bit dry, and could have had some more flavour to it. I like the ambience here, especially the woody feel and the yellow lights that the place has to it.

Chicken cottage

At first, I though this is another fried chicken place, but it would be wrong to compare it directly to the famous chains that we are aware of. The chicken that they use at Chicken cottage is of a much higher grade, and also, they do not use frozen ones, but get it fresh on a regular basis. Their ice-cream too is dairy based (as opposed to most quick service restaurants which actually serve a non-dairy ice-cream).  I was invited here for a tasting and got to know more about the brand and their quality standards.  They have various types of chicken in various forms and spice levels.  We started with the chicken wings - we tried the grilled ones first and asked them to be made in the extra hot sauce. If you eat spicy food on a regular basis then you will definitely love it. I liked the fact that it wasn't extremely spicy but edible, so it does not kill the taste of the chicken.  We tried the fried chicken wings too, and these were also quite good. I co...
