Perfetto Pizzeria

Image
This outlet of Perfetto Pizzeria was just opened and I was invited to try out the food.  They have seating outdoors mainly, and a very small seating area inside.  I really liked the bbq chicken pizza. It had a nice flavour to it.  If you're looking for a bit of a desi flavour then the chicken tikka pizza is also a good choice.  View this post on Instagram A post shared by Udit 📷 [Famished Explorer] (@uditss) on Sep 14, 2020 at 8:10am PDT We also relished the all time classic - margarita.  For veggie lovers, they have a couple of pizzas too. The giardiniera pizza is the one I had. It has bell peppers, mushroom, black olive, sweet corn, mozzarella, and homemade tomato sauce.  We tried some nice beverages too. My favourite one was the power wagon. It is dark green in colour and has a unique flavour to it.  The energy booster is pretty good too.  If you like something that's classic Italian, do ...

Oregano

Image
We were in motor city and decided to check out this place for some Italian food.  They have seating outdoors as well as indoors. The inside area is small and cozy.  As we waited for our food, they got us some focaacia . This was really chewy and I did not like it at all. We started with some garlic bread and it was really cheesy with a generous amount of cheese and it had a lovely cheese-pull to it too. Also, ample amount of garlic in it. This thing was really good.  We had a portion of the oregano wings . These tasted good enough although not something I'd recommend.  For the mains, we had a crostini chicken with linguine . This was made in cream sauce so was quite filling. The chicken tasted nice, and so did the linguine.  The other dish we had was the grilled chicken with balsamic reduction . It was served with potatoes on the side and tasted average.  We also had the herb crusted salmon fillet which was served on a bed of m...

Broccoli Pizza and Pasta

I've seen many outlets of this restaurant but hadn't tried it before. They recently invited me to try out the food at this new Jumeirah outlet. It isn't a very big outlet; it has two tables for four people and a couple of tables that seat two each. The outlet was quite empty when we went, and we were the only ones dining in that day.  It also did seem under-staffed with just one staff member doing pretty much everything - Jen - who was friendly and served with a smile.  The super meat pizza sounded tempting. It had cheese, Italian sausage, mushroom, onion, green pepper, black olive, turkey, and pepperoni. We ordered a medium one of this.  As soon as she was done with the pending orders, she started making our pizza. It did take a fair bit of time to be served. From the time we entered the restaurant till the time we got our pizza, it was 30 minutes.  The pizza tasted delicious. The crust was soft enough, the toppings were delicious, and it was cheesy too...

Mix n' Match - Delivery review

Image
This is a delivery only restaurant which has multiple outlets. They offered to send me some food for a review. As the name suggests, you can mix n match different dishes from different places. Here are the items that I ordered. All of them are vegetarian . I ordered a Hummus by tawook nation. It looked really nice but was a tad bit dry. The baked falafel wrap by right bite express tasted delicious. I liked the fact that the bread was really thin and I could get nice flavours. Although it had become a bit soggy. The greenhouse pizza by NKD was delicious. Before I even opened the box, I could get the lovely aroma from this one. ` The garlic bread by NKD was nice and cheesy. It had a good flavour to it. We totally loved the Lentil soup by ritebite express. It was a tad bit thicker than usual and had small pieces of carrots in it. I also asked for a salad - the Athena by barsalata 2. This looked really colourful and the portion size was nice too. It was f...

800 degrees pizza

I had been to their other outlet a long time ago and had a very nice experience. When my friend invited me to check out this outlet, I was really looking forward to it, but sadly, this experience was just average.  I was thirsty, and the first thing I wanted was a glass of water. They took about 10 minutes to get a glass. They started off on the wrong foot.  We ordered the Frittura Mista (appetiser platter) since we would get to try out more of the dishes. It consists of arancini (which was made from rice, mushroom, and mozzarella); the salt was on the lesser side. There was the crochette di potato (which is made from mashed potatoes) which was nice. It also had the Suppli di Riso (which was very similar to arancini except for the tomato sauce; I wonder why such similar dishes) and was okay. There was the frittura di calamari (squid) which totally lacked salt.  We did tell the staff about the salt being on the lesser side... For our drinks, we had a...

800 pizza

Image
There are so many pizza places around, but this is not just another pizza place, and I got to know that when I was invited here to try out the food. First, it is the ambience. It does not feel like one of those pizza chains. It has a traditional European feel to it. They also have a live kitchen and you can see them making the pizzas here, as well as the furnace. We started with some Arancini . Their classic one is mac n' cheese , and I liked it too. You can't go wrong with this one. I also liked the Truffle porcini , though at first bite, it was a bit weird, but then I really enjoyed it. The eggplant parmigiana was just about okay. The flavours did not seem right. I'm a fan of the tomato mozzarella flavour, but in the form of an arancini, it really did not feel right. Then we had the burrata . It was creamy and had the goodness of straciatella. It might not have been among the best, but it certainly was very good. For our pasta, we had the al gorgonz...

Zpizza

This is a small place but neat and tidy just like their other outlet that I had visited. The ambience is brown, white, and bright red. The restaurant gave me vouchers of this place so I went and tried it out.  This particular day we were the only customers here. It's nice if you want a peaceful place but it felt too secluded.  We started with the zwings . They were juicy and saucy, and the chicken was soft too. For our pizza, we started with the roasted garlic chicken . If you're a fan of garlic then you'll love this. It has mozarella and shaved parmesan which makes it cheesy. I think it lacked some salt though.  View this post on Instagram A post shared by Famished Explorer [ UDIT ] (@uditss) on Sep 8, 2018 at 10:36pm PDT Then we had the Santa fe pizza which has a base of pesto sauce.  It is topped with chicken sausages, red onions, corn, tomatoes, and serrano chillies. The combination of all of this makes it a delight to ...
