Behrouz Biryani

Image
I had heard about this brand and wanted to check it out. They offered to send me some food at home for a review. Since my family is vegetarian , I asked only for veg food.  The delivery arrived on time, and was packed nicely. For starters, we had the spinach corn tikki . It was soft and a little crispy on the outside. It tasted really good and was served with khubz and a salad. For the biryani, we had one subz-e-biryani . The aroma of the biryani was just too good and we couldn't wait to dig in. The flavour too lived up to our expectations and we really liked it.  The other biryani was the zaikedaar paneer biryani . The spiced paneer added a lot of flavour to the biryani, and I enjoyed this even more than the subz-e-biryani. The biryanis were served with raita and gulab jamun. The gulab jamun too was soft and yummy.

Beyrock - Lebanese restaurant

Image
Beyrock is a Lebanese restaurant located in Deira. They also serve shisha and have a nice ambience outside, although it's not too big. I was invited to try out the food here. We started with the hummus with meat . The taste was not bad, but it felt a bit dry. After that we had their shawerma . I did expect it to have a little more flavour to it. Then we tried the Arabic chicken biryani . This was delicious. The chicken was really flavourful and soft, and the rice also had mild flavours of the spices. It was served along with the spicy red sauce which accentuated the taste. Their speciality is the longest manakeesh of UAE . It is a metre long and comes in a mix of flavours. It's got zaatar, zaatar with labneh, cheese, lahm bi ajeen, and muhmara. This was huge and nice for sharing. The flavours were average though. I had a hot chocolate which was quite good. The Moroccan tea was served in a pot and had a nice minty flavour to it. Last, but not the least, we had the cheese kuna

Dabang - Ripe Market

Image
This is a food truck located at the Ripe Market in Umm Sequim and I was invited to try out the food here. The market is lively on the weekends but quite secluded on weekdays. We started with the pankhi chicken kebab . These kebabs had stuffing of various spices and it tasted delicious especially along with the sauce that's served with it.  For our mains, we had the fish curry . The fish was fried and the orange semi-gravy was totally on point. It had the flavour of chillies and curry leaves to it.  We had it along with the garlic naan . Then we had the chicken tikka biryani . This was flavourful and had a lovely aroma of the spices to it.  For our dessert, we had the mango falooda . It wasn't overly stuffed with dry fruits which is what I liked. Taste a spoonful and you won't be able to resist.  Lastly, we ended our meal with a hot cuppa chai which felt comforting.  This place is located inside the police academy grounds. Ample parking is available.

Bidaya - healthy cafe

If you're someone who is into health and fitness, you'll love this place. It is located inside Gravity Calisthenics Gym where I was invited to check out their food.  We started with a smoothie called Berrylicious which is made from strawberries and blueberries. I'm a fan of berries and this smoothie tasted great. It is also very low on calories. The other smoothie that I tried was called Leila . It is made from Nutella and banana and although I'm not a fan of banana, this actually did taste quite good. It is a quite high in calories though and usually had as a meal itself. For fans of peanut butter, the Peanut Butter Bomb is a shake worth trying. We then tried their healthy sandwiches . The mushroom one and the beef one was really good. The chicken sandwich wasn't too bad either. These were lightly toasted. For their salads, there was an interesting spicy beef salad . It's got a lot of veggies and beef. It is served along with a sauce with a hint of a Tabasc
