Hitchki - Global Indian fusion

Image
I had visited their other outlet and totally loved it. I was invited to try this outlet which was launched recently. The place has a nice decor and feels upmarket. They have a wide variety of dishes whose names are a play on words; a lot of them being Bollywood / desi references (you can click below) and a twist to them.  They have some desi drinks as well as some healthy and fusion ones.  We started with the punjabi lassi . This is a kesar flavoured lassi served in a tall glass along with a malai pedha. There is a lot of foam on the glass too and it makes it look royal. It was perhaps my favourite beverage here. Definitely try it out.  For the health freaks, the mission mangal will surely appeal. It has beetroot, organic raisin, and cranberry slush in it, and is served to look like a rocket launch with a lot of smoke around it. It did taste good, but it was a bit too "healthy" for my liking. Kuch khatti much meethi is a combination of tamarind, melon, and cranber...

Mad Tailors - Contemporary Cafe

Image
It has a really catchy name and when my friend suggested that we should try it, I had to check it out.  Finding parking was a bit hard, but I eventually got it. The restaurant looks interesting and inviting  from the outside too. The interiors are done up really well and feel classy with a grey and gold theme.  They've got a lot of appealing pictures of the menu items on the iPad and we were confused as to what to order. There are some small bites too, and you can order those if you don't want the big portions.  We ordered the MAD Caesar which is their version of the Caesar salad. The lettuce is made into a small size which becomes like a base. Then it is topped with everything that's in a Caesar salad. It tasted just like a Caesar salad and was quite good.  Then we had the Cordon Bleu Croquettes . These were nice and cheesy and really flavourful. It is one of their top sellers and I can see why.  For the mains we had the Prawn Proven...

Masti - contemporary Indian cuisine

Image
I had heard a lot about this place and so we went to try it out. This restaurant is for a niche audience. The serve contemporary cuisine here with an Indian hint to it. When we went there, they said the food is Indian, which it absolutely isn't, but it may have some Indian flavours or ingredients.  Whether you call it Indian or fusion or whatever you like, the dishes are really innovative. We started with the snow pea and shimeji bao . It looked quite appealing, and the taste was also pretty good. The sauces are served in little pipettes that you inject in the bao.  We came across another dish which is served with a black paste. I don't remember the exact name of this dish, but it was definitely delicious, and worth a shot.  Most of us Indians love chaat. They had a chaat made from a root - the cassava chaat . It has some sweet and sour sauces and some rocket leaves. It looked very simple but tasted fantastic. It also had some crisps on top. Since I'm no...
