Dr. Cuisine

This is a unique concept where they have a theme of a hospital. To sit, they've got wheel-chairs, and hospital beds. The staff is dressed as nurses. It's got a blue-ish theme to it.  When my friend told me about it, I was intrigued, and decded to check it out.  We were the only customers there, and the place was totally calm. They've got their menu on the iPad, and the photos there look really tempting. We wanted to order all of it.  After a lot of thought, I settled for the crazy eggs .  These are poached eggs; I asked them to be medium done. These were really very good. They were served with some garlic bread on the side which was even more delicious.  For the coffee, we had a Gala Zyed . It is a rose based cold coffee. It is something different than the regular coffee. It was served in a flask (like in a chemistry lab), though in their menu it was shown in a plastic bag which also looked cool, but they didn't have that; the flask suited it well ...

State 88

Image
State 88 has just opened about two months ago by two brothers who love sandwiches and wanted to create something unique.  They love the number '8', and it also happens to look like a rotated infinity sign - and that is the limit for their menu items - infinite. Their restaurant is based on a few values or what they call 'articles of constitution' just like a state would; and that's where the name comes from. I got an invite from the restaurant and at first when I saw this place online, I though it's just another sandwich place, but the photos were tempting and they had some innovative items, which is why I was looking forward to it.  Upon entering, I was greeted by a waiter called James. He was friendly and showed us to a table.  The place is rustic, yet classy. It has interesting qoutations written everywhere.  They've got a good selection of sandwiches and also have salads, drinks and dessert.  We decided to start with a salad and a coupl...

more than just a Tea Cup

Image
While searching for some 'tea' places, this one popped up and while I was pleasantly surprized to see over a dozen types of teas, they've also got some a lot of interesting food and that's what made me check this place out. They've got a big glittery green board which is easy to spot, but the place was a bit smaller than I expected. The interiors though are cozy, and the brown & green theme gives you the feel like you're in 'natural' surroundings. They've also got outside seating. We started off with a cup of karak saffron and a watermelon juice . The karak tea was good and so was the juice. Among the interesting items on their menu are the rigag and the khamir which are famous Arabic snacks. While the rigag is somewhat like a crepe, the khamir  can be loosely translated to be a savoury pastry. They have a lot of options in that too choose from, and you can even mix 'n' match. We ordered a cheetos cheese egg rigag , and a che...
