The Hungry Monkey

Image
The name itself is really catchy, and it makes it sound like a cool place. I was invited here to try out their food and beverages.  This place is located in Donatello Hotel and they have their own parking too; also it is pretty easy to find.  The place isn't all that big, so if you're looking for a chilled out place where there won't be too many people, then this is a good option.  They have innovative ways of serving the drinks. They use quirky glasses / bowls to serve them.  The drink that looked really appealing to me was the Rebellious Fish . It is served in a fish bowl, and hence the name. It contains citron vodka, passoa Liqueur, Cointreau, Proseco wine, and orange juice. This one tasted refreshing and I loved the fruity flavours that it had to it.  It was mild in the beginning, and got a little stronger towards the end. I liked the fact that it is served in a bowl and it feels like you're holding something big instead of a regular sized glass...

Miss Wang

Image
Miss Wang is a small bit lively place. It has karaoke nights on Mondays and live music on every other day. Also, on Monday's they have happy hours all night.  They focus on Asian food, and also have different themed cuisines every few weeks. This time when they invited my, it was the Singapore theme, and so they had Singaporean speciality food and drinks apart from the regular menu.  We started with a few cocktails. The Marina Bay sand was with malibu , pineapple juice, and blue curacao. This one was refreshing and felt really nice.  The other one was the Singapore Sling twist and had Jack fire whiskey, lychee juice and cherry liquor. I found this one to be just okay. For some light bites, they recommended one of their special salads - the Chow Mein Salad . This was made from cabbage, crispy noodles, celery, cranberries, orange, spring onion, and bean sprouts. This tasted healthy and I really liked the generous amount of bean sprouts in it.  Next...

Hitchki - Indian cuisine with a firangi twist

Image
The name Hitchki means a hiccup in Hindi; and in the Indian tradition is also associated when someone remembers you. So this resturant basically aims to serve food that you'd remember for a long time even after going back. The concept itself is something interesting. It is a restaurant within a restaurant - located inside Bazxar - but a separate entity in itself. They're a chain from Mumbai and are opening soon (as of writing this blogpost) in the Dubai market. They serve Indian fusion cuisine, but keeping in mind that the main essence of the dish isn't lost and retains a desi flavor to it. We were invited here for the pre-launch and were glad to try out this concept. We started off with the cocktails, one of which was called "Geeta Babita" and the other one being Drunken Nimboo Soda. I loved the drunked nimboo soda . It is zesty, and you'll feel like you're having the refreshing Indian lemon soda, but with a twist of rum and a hint of orange bi...
