India Palace - Garhoud

Image
This is a restaurant located in Garhoud that has buffet as well as a la carte. I was invited to try out their food. It was a Thursday night and they had live music too. A lot of it was instrumental and it was not too loud which is just the way I prefer it to be. The place wasn't very crowded that night.  As soon as you enter, you see a lovely decor and has a very Indian feel to it.  We started with the murg malai shorba which had a nice consistency to it and was a bit different than the usual soup.  For the salad, we had the murg tikka salad . This has pieces of tandoori chicken topped with freshly chopped onions, carrot and beetroot julienne, and salad leaves on the side. It was more of a snack than a salad.  As for the drinks, we had the mango lassi which was thick and nice.  There was the mint cooler too which is similar to a lemon mint juice and was refreshing.  For the appetisers, we had the paneer tikka chutney wale ...

Applebee's

I've been to their outlets but mostly had the dessert. This time we had the savoury stuff. We started with some wings. We had a mix of the buffalo wings and the boneless ones in their spiciest sauce. These were saucy and juicy, and were served with blue cheese dip on the side. The monster chicken sandwich was delicious too. It was huge and cheesy. It is more filling than it would look from the picture. We got it cut into two since we were sharing and it was loaded inside. The creamy parmesan chicken was okay. It was a tad bit dry, and could have had some more flavour to it. I like the ambience here, especially the woody feel and the yellow lights that the place has to it.

Fujya Japanese restaurant

I have been to quite a few Japanese restaurants but none came close to the experience that I had here. I was invited to try out the delicious food here. They have seating indoors as well as outdoors. We sat outdoors for the barbeque. They started by setting up the bbq set at our table. It started with various types of wagyu . The first was the thinly sliced one (2.5mm) that they grilled. This was really delicious. Then was the thickly sliced wagyu (3.5mm). This too was juicy and really flavourful; we could barely keep our hands off it. This one was a tad bit dry I felt, but did not taste bad. Then we had the salmon and tuna nigiri which was pretty good. if you're a fan of unagi (eel) you would like the one they have. It had some bbq sauce on it and had a god flavour to it. ...

Zorba - Greek cuisine

Image
This restaurant is located in the beautiful Century village which itself gives a really nice vibe when you enter owing to the natural surroundings. I was invited to Zorba to try out their food.  They have seating indoors as well as outdoors. We sat outside since we wanted the natural vibe, but close to the indoors so we could get a bit of the cool breeze from the air-conditioning inside as the weather was warm.  We started with the potato and leek soup which was really delicious. From the texture to the flavours, it was totally on point and felt really comforting.  For the salad, we had Greek salad which had cucumber, tomato, onion, bell peppers, and was drizzled with olive oil and mild spices. It tasted really fresh and I liked the fact that it had a generously sized piece of feta on it.  View this post on Instagram A post shared by Famished Explorer [ UDIT ] (@uditss) on Apr 6, 2019 at 11:26am PDT After this we had the Cae...
