Eggspectation - City Walk

Image
Eggspectation is more than just an egg place. They have some good burgers, pastas, flatbreads, salads, and juices too.  I was invited here for a cooking and tasting session with their executive chef Rohan . I had a hot cup of latte as I waited there for our session to start. They have two outlets - JBR, and this one which is in City Walk. The kitchen of this one is smaller as compared to the one in JBR, but is really clean and hygienic.  Chef Rohan started off with the omelette and made it look really easy. Then we moved on to the poached eggs, and he gave us tips about the amount of vinegar you need to add in the water to get a perfectly poached egg. He also showed us how to make a flatbread from scratch. Then we moved on to the savoury crepe and last but not the least - the s'mores french toast (which I will cover later in this post).  Omelettes can have a lot of different variations,  but I haven't seen one that looks as good as the one served ...

It goes unsaid that the ambiance of this place is great. It is old English style and great to sit for a long time.  They've got a smoking and a non-smoking section.  We sat in the non-smoking one which was quieter. We started with a mix berries milkshake . It consists of poached eggs and spinach on an English muffin. It also has salmon, which we replaced with mushrooms. The eggs were done right and tasted delicious. It is served along with hollandaise sauce which goes with it very well, and also roasted potatoes.  They've got all-da...

This is a unique concept where they have a theme of a hospital. To sit, they've got wheel-chairs, and hospital beds. The staff is dressed as nurses. It's got a blue-ish theme to it.  When my friend told me about it, I was intrigued, and decded to check it out.  We were the only customers there, and the place was totally calm. They've got their menu on the iPad, and the photos there look really tempting. We wanted to order all of it.  After a lot of thought, I settled for the crazy eggs .  These are poached eggs; I asked them to be medium done. These were really very good. They were served with some garlic bread on the side which was even more delicious.  For the coffee, we had a Gala Zyed . It is a rose based cold coffee. It is something different than the regular coffee. It was served in a flask (like in a chemistry lab), though in their menu it was shown in a plastic bag which also looked cool, but they didn't have that; the flask suited it well ...
