This is a fun and chilled out place with some good Mexican food. 

 We started with some queso fundido. This is a dish made basically of melted cheese, and has your choice of meat in it. We asked the chicken one. If you're a cheese lover, this is cheese heaven. It does taste quite good, although after a bite or two I thought it was a cheese overload, and a tad bit dry. 

 They have guacamole as a starter and it is due to the quantity as well as the fact that they prepare it in front of you. It was made in a big wooden bowl and was heavenly. We relished it with tortilla chips. 

I was in a mood for some soup, and ordered the crema de frijoles (bean soup). It was thick and really flavourful. I loved the creamy texture that it had to it. 

 We then ordered the taquitos potato. These are basically a rolled up tortilla with a filling of your choice. The potato filling tasted quite average and it wasn't something we enjoyed. 

 They've got a good selection of tacos and I had the tacos maya - chicken. It comes with sauces and some rice on the side. The filling inside was juicy and flavourful. 

 We saw chicken wings on the menu and couldn't resist. The smokey bbq flavour made these wings taste really delicious. 

 For the drinks, we ordered a pina colada, and it was quite average. 

 The place is good overall, and they have a good selection of items too. 

Finding a parking might be a bit difficult on the weekends .

This is a Brazilian brand which has 200 outlets worldwide and has recently started in Dubai with 8 outlets. They invited me to try out their outlet in Citywalk. Most of their outlets here are kiosks but this is a comparatively bigger one. The ambience is nice and they've used a green and purple colour scheme which gives a bit of a earthy vibe.  You can customize your acai bowl or smoothie with the various ingredients that they have.  We took one with Acai, chia seeds, almonds, hazelnut, and strawberry. It was nice and healthy, although colder than usual. If you have it quickly, you might get a brain-freeze.  In the other one we had acai with condensed milk, strawberry, almonds and chia seeds. I liked the flavour of the condensed milk in this one.  It's a good place especially if you like to have something healthy.  Click here to salivate

Humpty Dumpty - desi Chinese

This is a small place located in Karama, and my friends took me there. Initially I was a apprehensive as to how this place might be, but it didn't seem to be all that bad.  We were five of us, and moderately hungry.  We ordered the Schezwan sixer . This is a combo which contains 1 portion of each: fried rice, noodles, chicken gravy, soup, Chinese bhel, chicken lollipop . This costs just about AED 50. The above combo is also available in a vegetarian option which costs around 40 AED.   We started with the soup which I really liked. It was the manchow soup which was spicy and tangy. The chinese bhel was okay. It wasn't so crunchy, and neither did it have a very good taste.  The chicken lollipop wasn't too bad; it were fairly good. Baku food : What did I eat in Azerbaijan?

Azerbaijani food has a lot of Middle Eastern influence, and a lot of dishes are variations of those you get in the Middle East. There were a few good local restaurants I visited, and a few others too. I'm going to talk about all of these in this post.  The name of the dishes may be a bit different in Azeri (language), and some might just be a translation / description of the dish. You can click on the name of the restaurant to get the exact location.   Burc Qala [well known for Azeri cuisine]:- This is located in the heart of the city - Icheri Shehr (which means Old City). While walking through the old forts in this area, we came across this restaurant. The interiors feel really traditional. Also, a lot of shades of red are used. Here, I had the qutab , which is a very famous local dish; more of a snack. It is made from thinly rolled dough, and has filling inside. It usually has two variants - minced meat, and mixed greens.
