Al Humsani

This is a Jordanian restaurant where I was invited to try the food.

It has a nice décor and seating for about 25-30 people.

They have some interesting dishes on their menu and we were spoilt for choice.

We started with the chicken Mexican saj. It had a delicious filling of chicken with lovely Mexican flavours.

Then we tried their stuffed falafels. They have various kinds. My favourite was the one stuffed with cheese. The cheese just melted as I took a bite. They also have the one stuffed with nuts which was nice.

Musakhan is another Jordanian item that I like. I've usually had it in the form of rolls but here they had one as a meal. It is served on a big plate with chicken on top. This was really flavourful. It has a bit of a crispy texture to it and was maroon in colour Looked appealing too. It did have quite a bit of oil / fat on it though.

One of my favourite dishes here was the shami fatteh. It has hummus mixed with beans, bread and their special dressing, topped with vegetable ghee, almonds, and crispy fried bread. It is served warm and was delicious.

We tried some fattayer too. There was the shami cheese one which I really enjoyed. We also tried the shami sfeeha with vegetables and shami sfeeha with pomegranate sauce. These were good enough but a tad bit dry.

There was the meat arayes too, and it had similar flavours to that of the shami sfeeha fattayer.

For the drinks, we tried their mojitos. They have a green apple one which has a bit of a sour taste to it and was really good.

The other one was the lychee rose which is an interesting combination. It is a bit on the sweeter side.

For dessert, we had Kuwaya which I can loosely explain as a fattayer stuffed with halwa. It was a bit dry for my liking.

Overall, the place is really good and has some interesting dishes to offer. Also, the food items are very reasonably priced.
