Doner Deli

Image
A Doner is tasty and filling and when I was invited to Doner Deli's new outlet, I was eagerly looking forward to it.  We started with the ice-tea which is made fresh, and they had made it really well. Not too lemony or too much tea-y. Wh o doesn't love fries?! They have a few types and got us the Fire Fries . These are topped with a sriracha mayo and crushed cheetos. This is an amazing combination and the good part is that it does not kill the taste of fries itself unlike a lot of other places that serve loaded fries.  Perhaps their best selling item is the pita wrap and it is available in different varieties. I had the one with pepper sauce. It tasted good, but was a tad bit dry and I couldn't taste much of the sauce.  View this post on Instagram A post shared by Famished Explorer [ UDIT ] (@uditss) on Nov 20, 2018 at 3:07am PST The slider trio looked interesting and we called for on...

Bosporous - Turkish cuisine

Image
Bosporous is one of the well known restaurant for Turkish food in Dubai. I'm a fan of Turkish food, especially the kebabs, and was really happy to be invited here.  As soon as I entered, I got a good feel, especially given the fact that it was a summer afternoon, and I was just walking from my car here. The ambient temperature felt just right, and the seating area had ample natural light seeping through.  They also have a section upstairs which has a bit of a casual feel to it, but the kind that you'd love to visit on a laid back day and just sit for long hours. Part of the section upstairs is also smoking, and they serve shisha too.  We started with the B osporous signature salad which has walnuts, raisins, greens, cheese and more. I'm not personally big fan of walnuts, but my friend really liked it. Also, the quantity was really good.  They have some really nice cold appetisers, and if you're unable to decide, then the mixed appetiser plat...

Doner Deli

Image
I am a big fan of the doner kebabs and this restaurant invited me to try and theirs.  We started with one of their assorted sides called the Deli snacks . This dish consisted of Jalapeno Poppers , onion rings , and potato wedges . These jalapeƱo poppers were really cheesy and extremely delicious. The other two were nice too.  They have about 5 types of Donor sandwiches to choose from and we chose the Chili Pita . This one was one of the biggest Donor sandwiches that I've seen. They put some flavorful sauces and veggies and this one.  A post shared by Famished Explorer [ UDIT ] (@uditss) on Mar 13, 2018 at 5:08am PDT Among the Deli special I saw a dish called Kapsalon . It is basically just like the Doner sandwich but without the bread. All the ingredients are put in a box instead. The quantity of this one was huge and it can be had as a full meal. They gave the sauces on the side too, so that you can add extra as per your convenience.  Anoth...

German Doner Kebab

Image
German Doner Kebab is a chain started in the 1989, and are now all over the world, with over a dozen outlets in Dubai itself.  Their Doner Kebabs are freshly made, and contains virtually no preservatives. They recently have refreshed their prices , with the current ones being lower by about 15% than earlier. They invited me to try out their delicious doner kebabs. Their doners are available in the traditional "doner kebab" bread, as a wrap, in a burger bun, and even in a box.  I started with the doner in a box . I asked for a salad and fries along with it. I found it a bit weird that in the box they just put the salad on top of the doner, and on that were the fries. So to reach my doner, I had to first have my fries and the salad. Anyway, the taste of the doner kebab was really very good. Since it was not inside a bread, I could get the pure taste of the doner kebab. It was meaty with an intermittent crunch to it.  It is served along with the three signatur...
