Piadera - business bay

Image
Piadera is the name derived from Piada which is an Italian flatbread. This particular outlet is really small and has place for about 5 people to sit inside, and some outside seating too; and caters mostly to deliveries and take-aways. They invited me to try out this outlet. We started with some drinks. The waiter recommended the ginger lemon detox . This one was really zesty, and sour, but quite nice if you're used to something like this.  I had an iced mocha , and it was nice and chocolatey, and served in a glass bottle. It was quite filling too.  We had three of their Piadas. My favourite one was the spicy Indian . This one has curried chicken along with tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, and chilly sauce. As you must have guessed, it is on the spicier side.  I had the Marina too, and this one is for fish lovers. It contains tuna with tomatoes, onions, capers, and garlic sauce. This one had strong flavours to it.  We also tried the Piadera which is t...

Eggspectation - City Walk

Image
Eggspectation is more than just an egg place. They have some good burgers, pastas, flatbreads, salads, and juices too.  I was invited here for a cooking and tasting session with their executive chef Rohan . I had a hot cup of latte as I waited there for our session to start. They have two outlets - JBR, and this one which is in City Walk. The kitchen of this one is smaller as compared to the one in JBR, but is really clean and hygienic.  Chef Rohan started off with the omelette and made it look really easy. Then we moved on to the poached eggs, and he gave us tips about the amount of vinegar you need to add in the water to get a perfectly poached egg. He also showed us how to make a flatbread from scratch. Then we moved on to the savoury crepe and last but not the least - the s'mores french toast (which I will cover later in this post).  Omelettes can have a lot of different variations,  but I haven't seen one that looks as good as the one served ...

Piadera - traditional Italian flatbread cafe

Image
Piada is a traditional Italian flatbread; and this was named after a woman who used to make these well. The  woman making Piada - Piadera. This is a small restaurant in the Trade Centre Area, but has nice interiors with a lot of natural lighting. I was invited for a blogers meet here, and before I went, I had thought of this as just another flatbread place. When I got there, I got to know about the people behind this place, the traditional Italian processes of making Piada (one of which is Halal, and they use that), and a lot more things. Also, their flour is made in Italy; on stone. Wow. We started with some coffees (Duh! Italian restaurant) and juices. The latte was very good. The cookie on the side wasn't to my liking though. The iced mocha was nice, and the detox as well as the carrot juice were fresh and are served in cute glass bottles. Now let me come to their specialty - the Piada. Like I said earlier, it is a traditional Italian flatbread. Th...
