This restaurant has won the Best Chinese restaurant in JLT Restaurant Awards 2018 and I was really looking forward to trying out the food here when they invited me.  This is a small place where it is mostly just the kitchen, so it is recommended for take-aways or deliveries since the seating place is for barely 2-4 people.  While we waited for our food, I munched on some the prawn crackers. We started with the salt and pepper chicken . I didn't expect it to be totally dry. It is tossed in spicy garlic, ginger, and sichuan pepper powder. The taste was pretty good but it felt really dry.  For our soup, we called for a sweet corn veg soup . It had small pieces of carrot which I liked and it was served piping hot. It tasted really comforting. Among their specialities, I saw the fried turnip cake which caught my attention and I had to try it out. This is a newly opened restaurant that is a Wok speciality and has other Asian dishes too. Though by itself, I wouldn't say that is it very big, but it is bigger than a lot of other wok restaurants. They have about 8 to 10 tables here and also bar styled chairs in the middle.  We started with some bubble teas . First was the passion fruit one. This was okay. It tasted a bit like pineapple strangely.  The other one was chocolate, which was good.  We then had the tom yum soup . The taste was quite good, but had a bit more of lemongrass than I like. The pieces of chicken were also a bit bigger, and in a soup they get kind chewy.  The dynamite shrimp was one thing that I really liked. Perhaps it has become really cliched lately, but this was really good. It was a bit crispy too.  My friend likes healthy stuff, and we called for the sum tum prawn salad . She totally loved it. Wok Boyz is a restaurant that serves Asian street food. This outlet is located in the food court in Dubai Internet City and they invited me to try it out.  Usually I'm not big fan of food courts because of the seating, but I really liked this one. The chairs are really comfortable, and they have some plants in the centre which give a very calm feel to the place. It might be a bit busy during office hours, but I went for dinner and it was almost empty.  You can see them prepare the food in the wok as there is a see-through glass, and you can also see a part of the kitchen.  We started with some fresh coconut water . It is the Thai coconut, so liking it will depend on how accustomed you are to this flavour.  They recommended some street tofu as one of the starters.
