Jamie's Italian

This restaurant by the celebrity chef Jamie Oliver had me coming in with a lot of expectations. With the lip-smacking food, friendly staff and the lovely view of the Jumeirah area, it sure lived up to it.
They have an outside seating as well as inside. When the weather permits, the outside seating feels relaxed and has a breathtaking view of the Burj-Al-Arab hotel.

They have a wide variety of dishes and you feel spoilt for choice. We were 6 of us, so we could try out a lot of things.
Among the few things we ordered were:
  • Pumpkin Ravioli.
With roasted pumpkin, ricotta and ample of rosemary butter this tasted heavenly. Every bite of it felt rich and creamy.
  • Lamb Chops Scottadito
These lamb chops are grilled under a brick and are served along with thick cut french fries. The chops are really juicy and had a mild smokey flavor to it.

  • Spaghetti & Meat Balls.
This is one of the classics. The meat balls were really nice, but the spaghetti was just about okay.

  • Their famous Prawn Linguine:
Well, that's what they call it. Given its name and a lot of praises from a friend, we expected it to be something really amazing, but when it was served, it seemed just like the run-of-the-mill. Now the thing about such restaurants is that they are willing to go the extra mile to make sure that the customers are happy. So when we did not like it that much, they gladly got a new one made. This time it was way better. The sauces were right and so was the consistency. Now we know why they call it as "our famous prawn linguine".

  • Jamie's Italian Burger
This was a huge burger served with fries on the side. It was good and had a really juice patty as can be seen from the photo below.

  • Truffle Risotto
This one really stole the show. With each bite, we could feel the rich ingredients that go into making this one. Loaded with a lot of authentic black truffles, and its creamy consistency this was just out of the world.

  • Tiramisu
If I have to describe it in one word, that'd be 'Sinful'.
Most places in Dubai do not serve the original liqueur version of the Tiramisu; this is not one of them. As soon as I took the first bite, there was a rich and creamy outburst of chocolate and liqueur flavors and it felt heavenly. It's almost impossible to control yourself after the first bite.\

In the end we were left asking for more...
