Japanese street food in Wokyo Noodle bar

Noodles, I totally was craving for, and what better than street food. Well, mmm..alomst. At first, when I saw it, I though it doesn't look so classy. Well, duh! Wokyo - this Japanese street food style Noodle bar gives you the real feel as if you're in the streets of Japan.

everything is so Japanese about the interiors

I liked the fact that everything is so Japanese about this place. They greet you in Japanese, and also have things like the green tea flavoured Kit Kat, Japanese Ramune soda, Asahi beer (non-alcoholic), nori seaweed snacks et al for sale.

The staff here is friendly; they asked us if it was our first visit there and guided us accordingly. The concept is that you first choose your sauce, then noodles/rice and then your protein. Psst psst...they've got a place for you bag too.

Now the good part is that you can taste your sauces before you select them. Once you've tasted your sauces, you can order right there and pay for it upfront, and then just like you'd experience on the street, you can see them make your noodles in front of you. After pondering for a bit and some help from the friendly waiter Mr. Chino, we ordered a portion of glass noodles in jakarta sauce with prawns, and a portion of egg noodles in Singaporean sauce with tofu. Their Jakarta sauce is one that they've newly launched; it's sambal based and so of-course really spicy.
For starters we ordered the spring roll, and for drinks the Asahi beer and the Thai ice tea.

It took a little longer than expected for the food to arrive on our table, but I felt it was worth the wait.
The spring rolls were bigger than what we usually see elsewhere and they were appetizing. I couldn't wait to try my glass noodles in jakarta sauce. One bite, and I couldn't stop there. They were prepared really well with the right amount of flavour to it, and the prawns in it too were delicious.
The egg noodles were good but they could have been better. Somewhere we felt that something was lacking. Also, the smell of the sauce felt a bit over-powering.

The thai ice-tea was nice but the size felt a bit small. It hardly lasted us till the end of the meal. I enjoyed my Asahi with the food though.

Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves and it was a nice experience and as we left the streets of Japan, the staff gave us a humble "Arigatō gozaimashita".
