Claypot - Indian cuisine
It's been a while since I visited this restaurant and last week I was invited to try out some of their dishes.
We started with some refreshing mocktails. My favourite was the virgin chilli mango margarita. It has the nice flavour like you're having a mango with chilli on it.
For the starters, my favourite was the mutton galouti. It's extremely soft, and had a lovely flavour of the spices.
The kalmi kebab was also really good. These are chicken drumsticks marinated with spices. The pieces were chunky and had a nice spicy flavour.
We also tried the ajwaini machhi tikka. The flavour was not bad.
They have momos too and we tried the vegetarian tandoori momos. They were nice and flavourful.
Another vegetarian appetiser that we had was the dahi kebab. This is hung curd with roasted cumin and spices that is deep fried. It was something interesting, although a little bland for my liking.
For our mains, we had the Goan prawn curry which was really delicious. It tasted best with rice.
The malabar prawn curry was also quite good.
They also have laal maas which is Rajasthani style lamb in chilli yogurt gravy. It is something worth trying.
For the vegetarian gravy, there was kumbh matar which is a combination of mushroom and peas in various spices. If you're a fan of mushrooms, you might like it.
We had these with various Indian breads. The best of which was the dal ka paratha which is a paratha stuffed with a paste of mixed beans. I had it for the first time and really liked it. The cheese naan and lachha paratha were good too.
Lastly we had the Lucknowi murgh biryani. It had a lovely aroma and a nice flavour to it.
Among the desserts, my favourite was the gulab jamun cheesecake.
The ras malai was also really good.
The kulfi and the gulab jamun were definitely worth trying.
The gajar halwa was just okay though.
Overall it is a nice place if you want to go with your family for some good food and drinks.
