 I've been to Project Chaiwala first time a long time ago and they recently invited me to check out their newly opened kiosk in Silicon Oasis. It is just a small kiosk and doesn't offer any seating so is suited best for a takeaway or a delivery.  It was summer and we started with the ice-tea . We had the regular one as well as the hibiscus one. These were not bad. For the snacks we tried their desi smashmosa which is their take on a samosa chaat. It tasted really good. The next item was the chilli cheese toastie . It also had some jalapenos in it and tasted great. We then tried the butter chicken paratha . The butter chicken tasted great, and overall this was flavourful. For the dessert, we tried their Nutella toastie . The good thing is that it isn't an overload of sweetness, but tastes nice especially if you're a fan of Nutella. We couldn't leave without trying out their teas. If you're looking for a place with good tea and snacks, this is a good choice. This outlet of theirs is bigger than the other one in barsha, and they invited me to try out the food.  We started with the Bombay vada pav . I'm usually a fan of this one, but the one here was just average. It was a bit dry. Then we had uncle's samosa which was pretty good and was served with chutneys. The chicken grill sandwich was really good. It had a nice filling inside, and was served with fries on the side.  My favourite though was the Keema ghotala pav . The keema had a bit of a different flavour than what we usually have. The consistency was nice and so was the taste. Mexican shawerma was a hit and miss. It looked appealing, and there was a good amount of chicken inside, although it was a bit dry. I did expect more from it.  The tuna melt panini was delicious. It was saucy and creamy. Project Chaiwala is such a catchy name, and especially if you're a tea-lover then you would be curious as to what's it about. I was invited to this restaurant to check out their offerings.  They have a combo for AED 50 which includes 1 of the 'bites', 1 wrap, and a tea. We took two of these combos.  For one of our wraps we chose a spicy chana wrap which was the vegetarian option. This really tasted good. There was a generous amount of chana in it and it was really filling.  For the side, we chose the sweet potato masala fries . This was an interesting item. They were cut like potato wedges but were made from sweet potato, and had some light masala (spices) sprinkled on it. They did taste quite good, but were served in a paper cup which was a bit weird.  For the tea, we took zaffrani chai (saffron tea). I'm a fan of karak tea and can have it any time of the day. When I got an invite from a place that had Karak (carac) in the name, I was eagerly looking forward to see what they've got to offer.  Along with tea, we desis like to munch on some light bites, and that's what they've got too.  I liked the fact that they do not have a wide menu, and have just stuck to the basics; and I must say, they've got those on point.  I started with a cup of zafran karak . I could not only see, but also taste the zafran (saffron) in it. To describe this in one word, I'd say it was comforting.  For the snacks, we started with the Mexican paratha which sounded really interesting. It was really cheesy, and tasted somewhat like a pizza. When I first read the words "premium tea Cafe", I wondered to myself if this is just another expensive tea place or do they actually have a good tea.  When I had my first sip of their karak Saffron tea , all my doubts vanished and I can say this was the best karak Saffron tea I've had in Dubai. And that's a very bold statement for someone who's a connoisseur of karak tea.  I also asked their staff which tea do they use to make this one, and they said that it is a combination of a few. I also met their chef who explained me that their tea is directly sourced from the tea plantations in India and they use a blend of these to get this perfect flavour. They also use a combination of different kinds of milk and he told me that they have tried over 20 combinations of tea/milk/spices to get this flavour. The name has a ring to it, and I was intrigued by that itself, so couln't wait to check it out.  As soon as you enter, you will notice the ambiance. It is lovely. There are a lot of antiques kept in there, and shades of golden / brown are used throughout the cafe. If feels kinda classy. The got us a newspaper. Oh wait, that was the menu. It's nice to read through it when it is in this form.  We started with some light bites and this cold beverage whose photo caught my attention.  We ordered a sambousek . They are a portion of assorted ones - cheese, meat, and vegetable. The cheese sambousek tasted good, while the other two were just about okay. We were a bit taken aback when we saw only three pieces though - one of each.  The beverage was the " karak dates frappe ".
