Choco Monarch

You need no guessing that this place is all about chocolate. I was invited here recently to satisfy my sweet tooth.

We ordered some shakes to start with. There was the monster milkshake (pictured below) which was pretty good, but me personally being a fan of Oreo, I liked the Oreo milkshake more.

Another sweet milkshake is the caramel frappe which is quite sweet as you must have guessed.

For fans of pain perdu (french toast), they've got a big one with ice-cream. The over-powering cinnamon it in can be a deal maker or a deal breaker. I'm not much of a cinnamon so I didn't quite devour it.

Order a chocolate pancake and it comes loaded with chocolate. The pancakes are soft and it is a treat for chocolate lovers. If you like some fruits alongside, then go for the choco monarch pancake

Next we tried their strawberry crepe. This was good, but I wound't say it was something great.

An all-time favourite is the molten chocolate / lava cake. They serve it with ice-cream and a little heart on the plate which is a nice touch. The chocolate didn't exactly flow out though, which was a bit of a let down.

If brownies are what you like, then do check those out. The chocolate brownies are chunky and taste really good.

They also come in the form of a bowl - the brownie bowl which is small yet appealing.

An interesting item is the sushi roller. This has a filling of fruits and cream inside, and is drizzled with chocolate sauce. If you're looking for something different to try, then surely order it, but taste-wise it was just ordinary.

What I did like are the waffles. They're crispy if you have them in time.

There's also chocolate fondue which is served along with fruits for you to dip in. After all the other dishes, this did not seem so dry and was really nice to have.

If all this is too sweet for you, then you can have their juices or coffees. I had a green apple juice and it as refreshing.

Sadly, they do not have anything savoury to eat.

They have happy hours during the morning from 10am to 2pm when the dishes are available for AED 10 each.
