Etisalat Beach Canteen - Tresind

It's that time of the year when the city is abuzz with food festivals all over the city and one simply cannot miss the Etisalat beach canteen.
There are loads of restaurants, many of which have new and interesting concepts.
This post is about Trèsind.
Trèsind is almost synonymous with molecular gastronomy in Dubai and I was waiting to try this one out since a long time.
Their outlet in the Etisalat beach canteen also had live cooking shows and their head chef was making interesting items for the audience.

With Trèsind you are spoilt for choice; finally we settled on a few.
We started with a mocktail called "Lava lamp". The name itself is so interesting and it certainly lives up to that. The best part was that they made it in front of us. It is a passion fruit juice based drink with berries in it, and not to forget the smoke coming out of it as a result of the liquid nitrogen. So you need to let it wait for a few minutes and let it cool down (or rather heat up) before you have it.

As for starters, we had a chaat trolley. It is a mixture of chaat items, and this too was made in front of us. Some of the ingredients in it are crackers, spinach fritters, gram-flour sponge cake, tamarind sauce, mint and coriander sauce, chaat masala gel... It being made live in front of you really makes you go "Wow".

After this, we had the lamb chops. These were one of the most delicious lamb chops I've had. The lamb was succulent and cooked to perfection. I really wonder how they made it so soft. The sauce too complemented it very well. They are served with rosemary flavoured potato wedges. We were left craving for more.

Last but not the least was the chicken shawarma kulcha. A perfect blend of Arabic and Indian. Words simply cannot do justice to describe the taste. It is sort of a kulcha with a filling of chicken with semi-gravy. It is served pipping hot and freshly made. It is on the spicier side which I totally loved.

Trèsind was totally stealing it from the other restaurants that were beside, and now I see why.
