Kaffe Bloom - Asian coffee shop

This is an Asian cafe, but more specifically a Korean and Japanese coffee shop that we were invited to. This was my first time to an Asian coffee shop and I was pleasantly surprised to see the offerings there.

We started with a yuzu soda. The soda itself looked similar to lemonade, and in fact is made form a citrus fruit too, but tasted a bit different. It doesn't feel all that sour, and the way they made it felt refreshing.
If you want to try something new, they have the Korean Plum soda too, and this did taste pretty good.
They also have a cold brew green tea that takes a few hours to brew. This too was something that you might have to develop a bit of a taste for, and might not appeal at first go; definitely not if you don't like green tea.

Then they got us some Thai ice-tea which I totally enjoyed as I'm a fan of this in general. When I first had Thai ice-tea, I did not like it much as the idea of having milk in cold tea did not appeal to me; but when I tried it for a few more times, without having pre-conceived notions, this did taste good.

We then moved on to some delicious truffle brownies; these were gooey and served warm.

The chestnut bun looked quite appealing but it wasn't something that appealed to my taste-buds as I'm not a big chestnut fan.

Then they got us toast. I was wondering why is there a piece of toasted bread lying on the plate, and got even more confused when they called it "toast". It tasted a bit sweetish, and the butter added to the flavour. It is definitely more than a regular toast!

Japanese cheesecake has been the talk-of-the-town recently, and we had it here. It did taste really nice; it wasn't overly sweet, and had a consistency similar to a sponge cake. Unfortunately, it wasn't jiggly like we were expecting it to be.

How about some green-tea rolls? It might sound a bit weird at first, but they do taste pretty good. We had a matcha roll, which obviously had the distinct flavour of matcha, and the other one was the houjicha roll. Houjicha is green tea too, but it is roasted in a pot over charcoal which gives it a reddish-brown colour and hence the roll looks brown. I liked this one more and it had a subtle flavour of green tea.

We had some cheese croissants too, and it was so good that we asked for a few more. It was really cheesy unlike the ones you get at a lot of places which doesn't have much of cheese.

Last, but not the least, we had the mango shaved ice. This has mango flavoured shaved ice along with some pieces of real mango in it. While this isn't a replacement for your ice-cream, it does taste quite nice.

The coffees here were good too; but not something that I would particularly recommend.

Accessing this place was tricky though, especially if you are not familiar with the area. You need to go inside the Onyx Tower 1, after which you go on the P2 floor using the elevator. Once you're there, you walk through the alley and reach a supermarket called 1004 Gourmet. You enter it and towards the far end of the supermarket (which isn't all that big), is Kaffe Bloom. The effort that it took to find this place did put me off initially but the interesting Asian offerings did make up for it in the end.
