We were in Dubai mall and wanted to grab a quick bite. I felt like having some Middle Eastern food, and saw this outlet.  They have some good options, and some combos too. I had the makdous which is a dish made from oil-cured aubergines. It had a nice tomato based stuffing inside it with some walnut and spices. There weren't too many walnuts, which is just the way I like it.  They have hummus along with shawerma - two of my favourites. A portion of hummus that is topped with chicken shawerma. The combination tastes delicious of-course. They also give you a packet of bread on the side. Grand cafe is located near Dubai mall just at the corner boulevard street at a lovely location. The place offers free valet parking too. They've recently launched their lunch buffet and they invited me to try it out.  It is reasonably priced at AED 65 without shisha, and AED 85 with shisha.  They have a good selection of items too. Beverages, salads, snacks, appetisers, mains, and desserts. For the beverages, they have jelleb and lemonade.  I really liked the mushroom soup here. It was creamy. There was also a chpice of lentil soup.  I really liked the tabbouleh and the eggplant walnut salad that they had. It was fresh and flavourful.  For the hot appetisers there was batata hara , sambosek , spinach fattayer , cheese rolls , and sfiha baalbakiyeh . When I heard the name Loqmato, I could relate to it being something of an Arabic dessert, and was excited to see what is it when I was invited to try it out.  It is basically made from two words - Loqma (or Luqaimat which is an Arabic dessert) and the Cioccolato (chocolate in Italian), hence Loqmato which is exactly what the concept is. They basically have a Luqaimat which is injected with a flavour of your choice and then topped with some delicious sweet toppings.  You have four choices for injections: - Chocolate - Crema (which is a bit like profiteroles) - Caramel - Cheese There are a wide variety of toppings to choose from.  They also have some pre-set combinations in the menu which taste really nice and we tried these.  Loqmato White : Crema injection; topped with white chocolate hot sauce and Oreo. I've been wanting to go to this place since I heard about the good food here. We were in downtown and decided to check out this restaurant.  The view is amazing if you're sitting outside. It is right outside the fountain and feels great to sit there especially if the weather is pleasant.  We saw some buns in the menu, and decided to go for the lamb bun after seeing a nice picture. It came in a big box and I was wondering how many are there, but we had just ordered a single piece so that was it. It was really good, and definitely worth trying out.  Then we ordered the dan dan noodles as it looked like something new. These are thin noodles along with a sesame peanut-based gravy. Jones recently opened their new outlet in Dubai mall where they invited me to try out the food. This outlet is bigger than the other one and has a lot of natural light, as well as an outside seating with views of the Burj fountain and souk al bahar. While we waited for our food, they got us some roasted caramelized spicy nuts to munch on. It was a nice combination of spicy with the caramel. The first appetiser I had was the burrata . I must say that this was really creamy and flavourful. A very good burrata after a long time, and if you're a fan, this one won't disappoint you.
