We all love Chinese food, and when these guys invited me, I was excited to check them out. This place is a bit smaller than what I expected, but the staff was friendly. They've got a wide range of starters, and we wanted it all. These tasted really nice and crispy, especially with the sweet & sour sauce that they gave along with it. Fried wantons : Loved the stuffing inside it, and it had a good taste overall. This is a small place located in Karama, and my friends took me there. Initially I was a apprehensive as to how this place might be, but it didn't seem to be all that bad.  We were five of us, and moderately hungry.  We ordered the Schezwan sixer . This is a combo which contains 1 portion of each: fried rice, noodles, chicken gravy, soup, Chinese bhel, chicken lollipop . This costs just about AED 50. The above combo is also available in a vegetarian option which costs around 40 AED.   We started with the soup which I really liked. It was the manchow soup which was spicy and tangy. The chinese bhel was okay. It wasn't so crunchy, and neither did it have a very good taste.  The chicken lollipop wasn't too bad; it were fairly good. Benjarong is an award winning thai restaurant located on the 24th level in Dusit Thani. Not only does it serve amazing Thai food, but this one also has a fantastic view. The interiors are classy, and there is also live instrumental music being played. I was invited by this restaurant, and was excited to be there.  We were spoilt for choice. We went in the first week of September and they had a special menu that had some additional items apart from the usual too.  We started off with some drinks and a salad - an interesting one - the green papaya salad with blue crab . This was something out of the box. The waiter asked if we were okay with spicy; we were. Now this was something unusual for a salad. I just love this place and keep coming back. I've been to other outlets and the food was delicious.  They had newly introduced the Chili Wonton Dimsum . It's got a filling of chicken inside and is served with a spicy chili paste. Since I love spicy, I totally loved it. There are four small pieces but totally worth the price.  For drinks, I had a matcha frappe . It is the green tea frappe. The green tea craze is catching on, and initially I was a bit apprehensive to try it out, but I liked the taste. This one is creamy and cold. If you've developed a taste for matcha, you'll like it.  Gaeng ped is a classic Thai red curry with seafood and is one of my all time favorite here. This time too, I couldn't resist ordering it. Chowking is well- known for its Chinese and Oriental food. We went there on a weekday for lunch, and it wasn't crowded at all. They have comfortable seating and a lot of natural light coming in. To start with, we ordered a Chicken Siomai which is a dumpling. The chicken was well cooked and it had a nice taste to it. It was served with a spicy chili oil which really enhanced its flavour. Another one of my all time favourite is the Nasi Goreng . So we ordered one. It looked so tempting and it surely lived up to it. The rice wasn't as sticky as I'd usually find it elsewhere, but it was delicious nonetheless. Then we ordered a chicken schezwan stir fried noodles . This too looked tempting, but it didn't taste all that great. Given the taste of the Nasi Goreng, I was expecting better. Also, the chicken in this felt a bit stale. Wagamama - a restaurant that's famous for Japanese inspired Asian cuisine - I wanted to try for a long time, and finally got a chance to go here. It is located in the 'Golden Mile' mall in Palm Jumeirah and has ample parking in the basement. They have a nice seating arrangement which is partially enclosed and a part that is partially open, as well as outside seating. To start with, we ordered Edamame and a Lollipop Prawn Kushiyaki. For the drinks we had the super green and a 'fruit' fresh juice. Once we were done with the order, the waiter wrote the code for our respective dishes on our table mats so that the server knows which one to serve whom. I found this bit really interesting. The steamed Edamame beans are coated with chilli garlic salt and tasted fresh and spicy. The Lollipop Prawn Kushiyaki are skewers of grilled prawn marinate in lemongrass, lime and chilli and were really delicious. I would certainly recommend it. Edamame beans Lollipop Pr...
