The  döner   kebab is a Turkish style kebab cooked on a vertical rotisserie (like a shawarma). In Germany, it is served in a pocket of bread. This is what this restaurant serves. I have been to their outlet and I liked it; later, they invited me for this one. This outlet isn't too big but they have outside seating too which is a good thing. People usually have the  döner  sandwich here; I decided to opt for something different. I tried their lamhacun, which is something like a manakeesh, but they wrap it up.  Also, they have a see-through kitchen so you can see them making it all in front of you.  The lamhacun wrap was really delicious, and the sauces really accentuated the flavor. I found this better than the  döner  sandwich which I ate in their other outlet. They also gives the sauces on side additionally. I took this one as a meal which comes with fries and a drink. After having visited their other outlet a long time ago, I had become a fan. They've opened this outlet just a few months ago and I was invited here to try it out.  This outlet isn't too big; it has a couple of tables, but one interesting thing I noticed is that they have one of their guys standing outside the restaurant mainly to cater to take-aways. A lot of people came in their cars, and ordered outside. I think this is something really nice as this area is still picking up, and not many customers might initially walk-in.  Another good thing is that you can see them making everything right in front of your eyes.  We started with one of their pulps - the Chronic . It contains orange, strawberry, mango and carrot. This was thick, cold and delicious. I could get the flavours of all the fruits/vegetables in it. This is a chain started in France in 1980 , and of-course their sandwich game is strong. It has been in Dubai for a few months, and we decided this place to catch up with a few friends.  The staff is really welcoming and you experience this right from the moment you step in. Little things like going out of their way, just to open the door, or giving the wi-fi password without even asking for it that really count. The ambiance is very nice. They've got seating inside as well as outside. Also, the prices are reasonable considering the fact that the food tastes really fresh and tasty. We started with a couple of coffees; two cappuccinos , one of them with an extra shot of espresso. The coffees were really good. They were full bodied, and had a rich aroma to it; and of-course the lovely coffee art on top. I ordered a peach smoothie. I think they wrongly gave a peach ice-tea as this one wasn't thick at all. This is a cafe in oud metha that serves shisha as well as good desi food. Since we wanted both, this was a good choice.  It was a weekend, and so there are some aspects about this review which you might not experience on a weekday. Firstly, parking was a big hassle. This place is a bit dimly lit is what you'll notice as soon as you enter. They have designed smoking and non-smoking areas. We found the tables to be a little too close to each other. On the tables beside our's, they added extra chairs, and then someone on the other table was allergic to cigarettes, the smoke of which was goin from our table to theirs. State 88 has just opened about two months ago by two brothers who love sandwiches and wanted to create something unique.  They love the number '8', and it also happens to look like a rotated infinity sign - and that is the limit for their menu items - infinite. Their restaurant is based on a few values or what they call 'articles of constitution' just like a state would; and that's where the name comes from. When I first read the name while looking for some healthy places online, I found it a little weird, but at the same time catchy. I expected it to be a really small place; may be something like most of the Malbari cafeterias in Bur Dubai, but upon entering I saw that it is way better than I expected. They interiors were bright and colorful with posters of attractive fruits. The name comes from their first branch located on Greams Road in Chennai. The menu looked interesting and has so many items that you'll be spoilt for choice. After much pondering we asked the waiter for recommendations based on our preferences.
