Pomme de Pain

This is a chain started in France in 1980, and of-course their sandwich game is strong. It has been in Dubai for a few months, and we decided this place to catch up with a few friends.
The staff is really welcoming and you experience this right from the moment you step in. Little things like going out of their way, just to open the door, or giving the wi-fi password without even asking for it that really count.

The ambiance is very nice. They've got seating inside as well as outside. Also, the prices are reasonable considering the fact that the food tastes really fresh and tasty. We started with a couple of coffees; two cappuccinos, one of them with an extra shot of espresso. The coffees were really good. They were full bodied, and had a rich aroma to it; and of-course the lovely coffee art on top.

I ordered a peach smoothie. I think they wrongly gave a peach ice-tea as this one wasn't thick at all. Since I liked it, I had it anyway.

For the sandwiches we had a Villageois and a Genereux.  The Villageois contains roasted chicken slices, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and cheese. It was really fresh, and the good thing was that it had a well-balanced taste. Wasn't too spicy or too bland. The ciabatta bread that it was made in was also fresh and crispy. It is served along with salad and potato wedges on the side. We asked for the wedges to be replaced with extra salad, and they gladly did.

The Genereux is just like the Villageois, but for the exception of the chicken being replaced with turkey. This too tasted really fresh and it was flavorful. The potato wedges were hot and served with mayonnaise and ketchup on the side.

They have a choice of two breads - white, and brown multi-grain. We had our sandwiches in the latter, and really liked it.  There was a bit of a goof-up by the waitress swiping my card. She swiped it the wrong way and she said it isn't working; then I had to point to the chip and she swiped it the right way. She barely smiled and didn't feel all that welcoming.  The other staff members were really nice though; smiled and thanked us as we left.  It is located beside the mosque in City Walk, in the lane beside the Rolls Royce showroom, so you can park accordingly.  The location on Zomato wrongly showed this on the opposite side as of writing this post. You can do a google search or click the location tag below for the exact location.

This place also accepts Zomato Gold on food! If you aren't a Zomato Gold member yet, use my code - UDITSS - to sign up and get a 25% off !
