Tibbs Frankie - JLT
I'm a fan of Indian street food and there aren't many dedicated places for frankie, so I was eager to check out this place when they invited me.
The restaurant has 4 tables and each can seat about four people, so the place is a bit small. Although during non-peak hours you should easily get a place there.
We started with the chicken tikka frankie. The chicken had a nice flavour to it, and the wrap was good too.
Then we had the veg schezwan frankie. I think I liked the flavours of this one more. It is the vegetable frankie with schezwan in it. This one was also a bit more crispier.
They also serve sandwiches. We had the veg grilled sandwich. It had potato, cucumber, tomato, and cheese in it. It tasted nice, although nothing special. It had a very homely feel to it.
Then we had the bbq chicken tikka grilled sandwich. This one definitely had a better taste and texture to it. We were really enjoying this one. The chicken was soft and really flavourful. It complemented the crispy bread.
They also have small snacks, and we tried their dabeli bites. Firstly, dabeli is something which not many people can get right. This one was just average. It could have had some more flavour to it. It wasn't something we relished.
The other item was the schezwan bread pakoda. They take your regular bread pakoda and make it with some schezwan flavours. It was served fresh and hotb, along with green chillis on the side. If you like bread pakoda, you're going to enjoy this one even more. I was totally enjoying this spicy snack. Soft. Hot. Spicy. Comforting.
For the drinks, we had the Mumbai Ishtyle Limbu Paani. Your regular fresh lime water made Mumbai style. It is not totally different but does have the tangy taste of the masala that they put in it and feels refreshing.
The other one was the rose lemonade. It sounded really fancy and looked nice too. The flavours for me personally were good, but not as good as I was expecting. If you keep your expectations low, perhaps you might enjoy it. I think I didn't quite like the fact that there was rose along with the tangy lemonade. It didn't go well together I felt.
We had tea in the end which was really good.
It is a small but nice place overall. Their frankies and sandwiches are good, and so is the schezwan bread pakoda.
