Beau Rivage

Beau Rivage is restaurant and bar in the newly opened Millenium Grand hotel in Business Bay and I was invited to try it out.

It is located beside the creek. They've got outside seating too, from where you can get a view of the creek, and enjoy the pleasant weather during winters.

We started with a beer and merlot.

For this evening, it was a tasting menu and we got to try out a few of their dishes, most of which were bar snacks and finger food.

We started with a pumpkin me which is a chilled pumpkin soup. The idea of a chilled pumpkin soup didn't quite excite me and after having a sip, my initial apprehensions were right. I don't have the taste-buds for this at all.

The one that I loved the most was the canal-mari. It was breaded calamari which was really crispy and hot, and was served with an aioli dip. Do try this one out.

For those who like a cold starter, there is the think pink which is baby shrimps along with a cocktail sauce. This tasted pretty good too.

They tried doing something innovative called beefey. It is  cured bresoala with dijon mustard. The bresoala tasted great, but it was wrapped around musk melon which I did not enjoy at all.

Another interesting starter was the Earl of salmon. This is an avocado and earl grey cured Salmon served on a bed of leaves. It had a really good taste to it.

The shrimp this was a tempura shrimp with sriracha mayo. It tasted great with the sauce.

I didn't quite like the sliders here. There was the Triplets which was a beef slider with iceberg lettuce, tomato, and melted cheese. It tasted a bit dry.

The marasi was a chicken burger with guacamole, plum tomatoes, mustard mayo. This too was just about okay, and I wouldn't recommend it.

The place also has pizzas and we tried some.
The truffle me up contained bechamel, mixed mushrooms, mozzarella and truffle oil. It tasted pretty good when it was served hot.

Queen Margie was good too. It was basically mozzarella, and tomato sauce.

The third one was called why did the chicken. This one had pulled chicken, barbeque sauce, tomato sauce, olives, mushrooms and mozzarella. It taste just about okay.

For the dessert, we had the chocolate orange which has- salted caramel at the bottom, and chocolate orange delice on the top. The flavours complemented each other well.

The other one was the beau brulee which is a vanilla creme brulee with mixed berries. I did not like the flavours that this had to it.

If you're looking for a good place to sit and chill with views of the creek, this is a good choice. They have fairly good bar food.
