Nola Eatery and Social House
An eatery that serves good food and has friendly staff.
There's a bit of a zig-zag maze to get there and once you're in you'll be greeted by this very friendly and jovial person called Jad. He welcomes you with a big smile and there itself you get a feeling of Joie De Vivre.
The ambiance inside is a bit dimly lit, but the have outside seating too. Also, in the middle of the restaurant is a bar, and you can make yourself comfortable on one of the bar stools if you enjoy that. For smokers, they've got an indoor smoking zone.
While waiting for our order, they got us some breads along with sun-dried tomato sauce. The sauce was good; the breads were just okay though.
To start with, we ordered empanads. They are stuffed with black eyed peas and mozarella chese. They tasted good, but a bit dry. Also, it could have had some more stuffing I felt.
For the mains, they've got a lot of choices. Something that caught our attention in the veggie jambalaya. It is a rice based dish that has got creole rice along with smoked bell peppers, mushrooms, and corn. It was a bit on the spicier side and we loved it. You get a good flavor of the vegetables in it.
After seeing the lovely desserts in the menu, we couldn't resist ordering one. We asked one of their staff members which is a good one and he recommended the Mississippi mud moelleux. He said it will take about 20 minutes to be served as they make it fresh each time. We were in no hurry. This dish is served with vanilla ice-cream on the side and was totally worth the wait. The mud cake is warm and filled with mixed berries. The taste of the berries in it is subtle, and coupled with the ice-cream this combination tastes really good and we were left craving for more.
While going, again we interacted with Jad as he asked us how our experience was and if everything went well. It certainly did!

They've got good a few mocktails too. Not much of choice in there. I had ordered a one with mixed fruits in it, and it had a creamy layer on top. Tasted pretty good overall.
