Moreish

In our quest for some Mexican food that wouldn't break our wallet, we stumbled upon this one. At first, I thought of the name very weird, until I actually looked it up online, and it means food that has a very pleasant taste and makes you want to eat more. The menu looked interesting and we couldn't wait to try out some of their delicious starters.

What better way to start a Mexican meal than nachos. So we ordered the Grande Nachos. It's got mexican bean sauce, sour cream jalapenos, and lots of melted cheese on it. Not to forget the guacamole of-course.
The quantity was quite large and the toppings were more than enough and lasted till the last nacho chip got over! A nachos lover would understand what I mean.

Then we wanted the all time favorite - garlic bread. We chose the mexican spiced one initially, but the waitress said that would be on a normal toast, so we chose the Herb Cheese Garlic bread
There were four pieces and tasted really good. They were hot and fresh; could have tasted a bit better with some more spices though, but chili flakes did the trick.

For mains we had the quesadillas. When served, they looked really thin, but one bite, and you'd know how chunky they were. Not just that, they were cheesy too. You could feel the generous amount of cheese in each bite.

All of this was really filling, but we had a tad bit of a place for some sweet. So we saw their specials on the board behind the counter and one that caught our attention was the Nutella Oreo milkshake
It looked great, but after we had a sip, it didn't live up to it. With nutella and oreo, I did have huge expectations.

This place is small, and the tables are very near to each other. It feels like they're intruding your personal space.

Another big let down, is the time taken to serve the order.
While waiting for our starters, we played the tic tac toe which they had. After a while, even this got boring and I sarcastically asked them if they have more games. I'm guessing these people know that people would have to wait for a long time, and were prepared already. They gave us jenga blocks.
For the mains, it took so long that we thought we wouldn't get them today at all, and were at our wits end; that's when they dishes arrived thankfully.

This was my first experience with the visit, but then I happened to go a second time the very next day. During this visit, the food was served within a reasonable amount of time, and it was definitely worth the very little wait that was there.

We started off with a mocktail called Sunset. This has got orange, peach, grenadine in it. This was a little sweet and a little tangy. Had just the right amount of taste to it.

For starters, we ordered a shawarma nachos! Yes. Take one of your favorite snack and add it to the another favorite. The result? Irresistible nachos. This one too had generous amounts of toppings to it and we finished it within no time.

Also tried the Italian and Thai this time.
For main, it was the Alfredo pasta which was really creamy and had a hint of herbs to it. Really hot when served.

Then came the wok fried jasmine rice. They've got a few options for sauces and also the protein. I chose the garlic chili basil sauce along with tofu. Of-course, with chili garlic you almost always get it right and this was no exception. The tofu tasted good too. A little more of it would have been better though.

Seeing a very tempting photo of the slow roasted chicken in the menu, we could hardly resist it. Served along with mashed potato and a few veggies on the side.
We asked for a barbecue sauce on the side. The chicken goes along really well with this one. It was soft and really juicy. The chicken skin was flavorful as well.
Now something so simple as the vegetables on the side were also done very well. I especially loved the zucchini in it.

Just like I started this post talking about the name of this place, let me also end it on a similar note. The name moreish has also been inspired by the word "Morya" which is a phrase used in the Hindu tradition that is associated with Lord Ganesha. Once you enter Moreish, you you will also see a small idol of Lord Ganesha just above its name.

If you're looking for a value-for-money mexican food, this  place could be a good option.
