Drinks and Spice Magic

The claim to fame for this restaurant is their "robot waitress". I was excited and looking forward to dine here when a friend of mine invited me here.

The ambience is a bit gaudy, and this was during the day when there was an ample amount of natural light. It might look dull too at night. I think they tried to make it look classy, but couldn't quite get there.

We sat on one of the tables where there is robot service. The "robot" is basically pretty much a mannequin that moves along a designated track.

To begin with, we had tamatar dhaniye ka shorba. The taste was pretty good, and it was a bit thick; which isn't bad for a soup, but a shorba is a bit thinner.

For our starters, we chose the veg platter. This was really nice. It had the veg seekh kebab was soft and made really well. The paneer lehsuni tikka was flavourful and soft. We also really liked the hara bhara kebab.

We got a portion of mutton chops too. These were semi-dry as opposed to totally dry that I've seen usually. The taste was pretty good; they were spicy, but the texture was okay. They were a tad bit chewy.

They also got us a mocktail - the blue moon - which looked pretty good but tasted alright.

For our mains, we had kesariya paneer. It was a saffron flavoured paneer which was something new. It did taste quite good, and if you like to try something different, it is a good option.

The other dish was the gorakhpuri kofta. These are balls of cheese and spinach cooked in tomato, cream, and fenugreek. I personally really liked them. It was something innovative.

We had the dal bukhara too which was also creamy and delicious.

Along with it, we had the lachha paratha and the mirchi pyaaz ki roti which is certainly worth a try. It is similar to garlic naan, but with onion and chilli on it.

We ended our meal with the shahi tukda. The taste was not bad, but it was quite soggy. It could have been a bit dry.

The staff is friendly and attentive which is really nice.

I noticed the use of dry ice which is quite the trend these days, but it was used along with almost all the dishes that they served us (notice in the pictures above), and the smoke wasn't even all that much. Along with the welcome drink, they kept the dry ice in an identical glass beside it. It was weird.

Also, the robot Ruby is programmed in such a way that I found it annoying and borderline insulting. When she gets the food, she says something like "press the button on my hand, so I can go", and  "You did not say thanks, but never mind, I'll go". My friend had in fact actually said thanks, which Ruby didn't hear. We really did not like this.
