Original Wings & Rings
Who doesn't love some hot wings with a great ambiance?!! This is exactly what this place will give you...and much more.
It is located in DIFC, has a sporty and casual ambiance, serves great food and drinks. I was invited to try this place out.
As soon as you enter, you'll notice the screens broadcasting sports. They've got bar stools as well as regular chairs; got some foosball too. Though this place is called "Wings and Rings", they're much more than that.
We started with an interesting item called the "Hand breaded Jalapeno chips". These are crumb fried jalapenos which go well with the drinks. It was something which I hadn't had before.
They've got a wide range of sauces for the wings. We had the ones with buffalo sauce, and the crazy sauce which is one of their best sellers. The crazy sauce is a mix of parmesan and one of their hot sauces. The wings are served with potato of your choice - fries / wedges / curly fries, etc.
Of-course I had to try the rings too. These rings were the biggest I've seen in my life. These were crispy and tasted amazing. I got to try all of their sauces with it. Some of my favorites are the buffalo, garlic parmesan, and the crazy sauce.
For the drinks, I had the Hoegaarden pint which is served in a huge glass, and a white Russian. Do try this one out if you haven't before.
They've got some good food too. We had the deluxe gyros which is topped with tomatoes, peppers, onion, mushroom, and cheese. This was one of the best dishes that I had here. The paper that it was wrapped in, had become a bit soggy though, but the gyros tasted amazing nonetheless.
A Special mention to Keathen, who was serving us and was really friendly and did a very good job.
Until now, we had our snacks with the various sauce and the hot sauce, the extra hot sauce, and then the atomic sauce which was extremely spicy! I though that was the hottest it could get. I couldn't be more wrong.
They've got the One Million hot sauce and also the One Billion! They're so called because of their respective rating on the Scoville Heat Index. Just to put that in perspective, Tabasco sauce rates at only Two Thousand on the Scoville Index.
You know sh*t is getting serious when you need to sign a disclaimer before you try out these sauces!
If you've had anything close to a Million scoville units, you know that you start sweating. So obviously there is no doubt that you will start sweating like crazy once you have this. My friend first tried out the billion suauce, and then the million. He couldn't feel the difference initially...because his taste buds got partially numb for a bit!
If you're courageous enough (or whacked in the head), you can also take the billion challenge which consists of 10 wings in the billion sauce!
Gettin' too hot already? There are some good dessert to soothe your tongue.
