Raju Omlet - dinner menu

Who doesn't love eggs? And when I think of eggs, I think of Raju omlet. They've recently launched their dinner menu which has a lot of new items, also including some chicken and mutton ones. They invited me to try out their SZR outlet. This outlet surprisingly is located in one of the small bi-lanes where there aren't too many shops around. The outlet is bigger than the Karama one and has nice interiors. They've tried to give it a bit of an old-style look, and put in some desi stuff too.

We started with a hot cup of chai, our desi favorite. It was good and is served just like they do on the streets.

They have a few items among the 'International favorites' that they've tweaked a bit. I found the eggaroni interesting, and ordered one. They took a macaroni and made it better; of-course, as you must have guessed, it's got egg in it. It is creamy, cheesy and filling.

Another of their tweaked international favorites is the shakshouka which is a dish famous in the Arabian region. They've added an egg on it and call it the shake-shouka. This one was delicious and a bit spicy too, and I totally loved it.

I love rice, and what better than the tava pulav with the Raju twist, i.e. with a half fried egg over it. The egg was made to perfection, and we loved it. The pulav however was a bit bland. I was expecting it be to a bit more spicier.

We asked the waiter for his recommendation in Mutton dishes, and the suggested the Rogan Josh. This looked tempting, but tasted alright. The mutton was okay, and it could have done with some more flavor to it.

Last we had the dal bhurji. This is the egg bhurji (crushed omlet) with some chana dal (split bengal gram) in it. It is innovative, but we couldn't get a good taste of either of them. Wasn't to my liking.

The staff overall has a bit of a lethargic attitude. They're not rude, but seem a little slow and not all that attentive.

I think Raju Omlet should stick to their egg items; that's what they make best.
