Almaz by Momo
Almaz is a Moroccan and Lebanese restaurant located in the JBR Walk; it looks classy and since it is located a tad bit higher compared to the other restaurants, you get a good view of the beach.
This also makes for a good place to enjoy the winters while dining.
I noticed that a few of the waiters were wearing the traditional Moroccan attire and it looked really nice.
Before we placed our order, they got us a good selection of breads in an artistic basket, along with pickled olives. The breads were nice and different than what are served elsewhere.
We started with some hummus, and a falafel platter. The hummus had a good consistency and tasted nice. The falafel were Moroccan style, which is a bit different to taste than Arabic ones. They were crunchy nonetheless, and we really liked 'em.
They've got a good selection of drinks. We had a pink champagne (non-alcoholic) which was served in a very nice glass. It tasted really good as well.
Another drink that we had was called "kiss with passion". This one was fruity, and had some crunchy seeds in it. This one was recommended to us by the staff, and tasted way better than it looked. I'll definitely recommend you to try this one out.
For the mains we had the Almaz mix grill. The meat was succulent, and the chicken was delicious. This also had some crispy fattayer which not many places serve. The lamb chops were well done, and were amazing.
To end on a sweet note, we ordered the "black desire". It is a layered chocolate cake, which also has pear sorbet inside it. It was something innovative, and also looked very attractive. It tasted quite good, though I was expecting something a little bigger than what was served.
The staff is courteous, and also suggests good dishes based on your preferences.
