Soho Grill

Soho is an American restaurant that serves traditional dishes. It's festive season, and they invited me to try out their specials.

The interiors are very rustic, and at the same time, there was ample natural light in the restaurant. It gave a very nice feel.

Also, since it was around Christmas, the place had been decorated and that truly gave festive feels.

We started off with some refreshing mocktails. We had the Classic Mojito. This was done right; not too lemony or too mint, but had had the perfect balance.

We also had the blueberry fizz. This has the blueberry syrup, which was a bit sweet. If you like something on the sweeter side, you'll definitely like it.

For starters, we got a mixed platter. It contained various items. One of them was the soho TNT popcorn shrimp. They're tossed in sticky korean bbq sauce, and have a mild sweet-ish flavour to them. They were crunchy and we really liked them. There was the ranch sauce (I don't think it was meant to be had with this dish), with which it tasted good.
There was the Elotes Cheese Corn which is basically corn on the cob with feta sauce, chili, lime, and onion. This tasted okay; I think we hadn't developed a taste for it yet.
My favourite though was the mac & cheese bites. This is a slow cooked macaroni formed into cheesy fried bites. I really liked these so much that I didn't even need additional sauces with it.
And the fourth one was the wings. Served in Soho BBQ sauce, they were juicy, and tasted good.

For mains, it was the festive special - the turkey
The portion consisted of turkey leg, and turkey breast. One the side was a baked potato, roots, and blueberry sauce.
The leg was crispy, and tasted good initially, but later on the taste faded out, and it wasn't quite to our liking. Also, the filling was just about okay.

The turkey breast was soft and cooked really well. We felt that it lacked flavour though. Being from the Indian sub-continent, our palettes aren't accustomed to having something so bland.
I really enjoyed the potato and the roots nonetheless.

There's gotta be dessert!
We had two of them. One was the apple crumble cheesecake. This was delicious. It had a couple of Apple slices too. The cheesecake was creamy, and had a nice flavour of apple to it, and a hint of cinnamon.

The other one was the triple chocolate cookie dough. It was topped with ice-cream and smores. I liked the consistency of the cookie. It wasn't too hard, but a little crispy, a little soft. Hard to explain accurately, but great to eat!

We had this along with a large cup of cappuccino.

They've got seating upstairs as well as downstairs; they've also got an enclosed smoking area upstairs which was really quiet. I really liked the overall feel that this place had to it more than I liked the food here.
