Hook and Cook - Palm Jumeirah

If you're a sea-food fan then this place will definitely get you hooked on. I was invited to try out their delicious offerings. I found this place to have a different variety than most conventional sea-food restaurants. The interiors are quite nice too, with various artefacts that will make you think of the sea. The place has a blue and brown theme to it just like a boat in the water.

They have seating indoors as well as outdoors which would be great during winters, and you get a lovely view of the Pointe.

They have some nice drinks like Sangria, various kinds of Mojito, ice-tea and more that are refreshing.

I started with the Burrata salad. The cheese was nice and creamy, and it tasted pretty good.

For appetisers, we had the Hook n Cook sampler. This consists of bang bang shrimp (similar to dynamite shrimp) which is one of my favourite. It was crispy and the flavour was nice too. The sampler also had crab cakes which were good enough. Could have been a bit softer but nothing quite to complain about. The third item in there was the fried calamari. I'm usually not a big fan of calamari since it is chewy but this one wasn't. It was softer and I really liked the texture as well as the taste.

The next appetiser was the fried shrimp. This was crispy and I liked the coating of the spices on it.

Now moving on to the mains...
The one thing which I loved the most was the Hamour in butter curry. Think butter chicken but replace the chicken with hamour. The curry was delicious and the fish tasted heavenly. It was served with rice on the side.

The scampi pasta was also really good and flavourful. It had shrimp in it and butter garlic sauce, along with cherry tomatoes.

We had salmon lasagne too, and though I like salmon, this was just about okay.

The classic fish and chips was there too. The fish tasted really good and was soft as expected; a tad bit oily though.

Another dish that I liked was the fish biryani. The fish was prepared well, and the yellow biryani rice made it taste good.

The beef sliders looked quite nice; the taste was good enough, but a bit dry.

They have some really good desserts too.
The chocolate lava cake was heavenly. The lava flowing out and had along with the ice-cream tasted great.

For someone who isn't a bit fan of coconut, I quite enjoyed the Coconut pie. For coconut lovers, this is definitely worth trying.

The sticky date pudding was good too but does get a bit too sweet.

The creme brulee looked interesting. This creamy dessert with the crisp top tasted lovely too.

It is a fantastic place if you're looking for a restaurant that serves seafood as well as shisha and has a good view.
