Wow - Maggi and Pav

The name Wow Maggi and Pav itself is really catchy and when I saw their menu, I was really eager to try out their food. They delivered some at my house for a review. 

 It was delivered on time and everything was packed really well. 

 The first item was the pizza vada pav burger. This is a vada pav with the pizza sauce, and some vegetables in it. It looks a bit like a burger. It really had the taste of the pizza in a burger! I totally recommend it for all pizza fans. 

 I'm a fan of momos, and when I saw they have a maggi cheese momo, I had to try this out. It has a generous amount of cheese in it which is the best part, and I got a good flavour of the maggi as well. The covering of the momo itself was also right. 

 They've got maggi biryani as well which sounded really interesting. These are maggi noodles that are biryani flavoured. Being a fan of maggi, I'm always up for experimenting, and this was just delicious. The quantity may look small, but is a lot and this would be a meal n itself.

 The Italian samosa was also something that surpassed my expectations. It is like a pizza inside a samosa. Feels so comforting. 

 Last, but not the least, I had the tandoori misal pav. This had a nice flavour to it. The misal was in the main container, and the crispies in a small packet that you sprinkle on top. Tasted great with the pav. I was a bit oily though.

 If you're looking for vegetarian Mumbai street food that is made fusion style and also feels comforting, then this is a fantastic choice for your meal!

Indo-Arab menu at Ashiana

Ashiana is an Indian restaurant located in Sheraton beside Dubai Creek. Recently it has got a new head chef - Joseph Yohanna - and has started its Indo-Arab menu; and we were among the first ones invited to try it out.  This was my first time visiting this outlet, and as soon as I entered, the ambiance felt classy. They've got live Indian music too (bollywood, and ghazals), so if you're a fan, you'll love it, otherwise it might be a bit too loud.  We started off with some pani-puri fruit juice shots . In this, instead of the regular pani, there was a mango-based fruit juice. The taste wasn't bad by itself, but if you're in the mood for pani-puri, then this doesn't quite hit the spot.  After this, all the items were Indian, with an Arabic twist to it.  We had a soup which was called dejaj (chicken) shorba . Oakberry Acai Bowls

This is a Brazilian brand which has 200 outlets worldwide and has recently started in Dubai with 8 outlets. They invited me to try out their outlet in Citywalk. Most of their outlets here are kiosks but this is a comparatively bigger one. The ambience is nice and they've used a green and purple colour scheme which gives a bit of a earthy vibe.  You can customize your acai bowl or smoothie with the various ingredients that they have.  We took one with Acai, chia seeds, almonds, hazelnut, and strawberry. It was nice and healthy, although colder than usual. If you have it quickly, you might get a brain-freeze.  In the other one we had acai with condensed milk, strawberry, almonds and chia seeds. I liked the flavour of the condensed milk in this one.  It's a good place especially if you like to have something healthy.  Click here to salivate
