Kailash parbat

In search of an upmarket vegetarian restaurant, i stumbled across this one. This is also perhaps the only pure vegetarian restaurant in Dubai that serves alcohol.

The ambience is nice and if you're looking for a pure vegetarian restaurant for special occasions, this is the perfect choice. It is located in al seef along the creek so you get a good view too.

They serve Indian as well as Asian and have some interesting dishes. We started with the dal pakwan which is a traditional Sindhi dish. The pakwan was crispy and the dal was delicious.

We also had the lemon coriander soup. The flavour was perfect and it had a mild spicy taste which we liked.

For the mains, we had the amritsari kofta curry. It is prepared in a yellow gravy and has paneer (cottage cheese) and potato dumplings in it. We loved the chunky dumplings and the gravy was nice too.

The other one was the paneer kofta hara masala. This was something different and though it looks like palak paneer, it isn't. The gravy had a lovely aroma and a nice flavour to it.

We had this along with cheese garlic naan which I totally loved and tandoori roti.

A really nice restaurant with good ambience and lovely food.
