Ila - dine by the creek

Ila is one of the restaurants located in the newly opened Al Seef mall along the creek. Walk about five minutes from the parking, and you'll find this restaurant. The weather was ideal for sitting outside, and the lovely views of the creek made it even better.

 The staff is friendly and attentive, and guided us to a table. 
We started with a plate of falafel. It was served with tahina sauce on the side. It was hot and crunchy, and I could get a good flavor.

Then we had the foul with tahini. Usually the fava beans are kept whole, but these were partially crushed, and made into a thick paste, then topped with tahini and served with hot bread. It tasted a bit different that what I was expecting, but certainly not bad.

 For the beverages, we had a Turkish coffee. This one was served in a very artistic cup, and with a piece of baklava on the side. It tasted good, but moreover, I really found the presentation to be fantastic.

 I had the pink lemonade. Initially I felt it was a bit pricey (at AED 29), but when they got it, I saw the quantity which was a lot; almost twice of what I was expecting. Also, it had pomegranade seeds in it which were like the cherry on top.

 I liked the food and the service, but most of all, I liked the views and the location.

Indo-Arab menu at Ashiana

Ashiana is an Indian restaurant located in Sheraton beside Dubai Creek. Recently it has got a new head chef - Joseph Yohanna - and has started its Indo-Arab menu; and we were among the first ones invited to try it out.  This was my first time visiting this outlet, and as soon as I entered, the ambiance felt classy. They've got live Indian music too (bollywood, and ghazals), so if you're a fan, you'll love it, otherwise it might be a bit too loud.  We started off with some pani-puri fruit juice shots . In this, instead of the regular pani, there was a mango-based fruit juice. The taste wasn't bad by itself, but if you're in the mood for pani-puri, then this doesn't quite hit the spot.  After this, all the items were Indian, with an Arabic twist to it.  We had a soup which was called dejaj (chicken) shorba . Oakberry Acai Bowls

This is a Brazilian brand which has 200 outlets worldwide and has recently started in Dubai with 8 outlets. They invited me to try out their outlet in Citywalk. Most of their outlets here are kiosks but this is a comparatively bigger one. The ambience is nice and they've used a green and purple colour scheme which gives a bit of a earthy vibe.  You can customize your acai bowl or smoothie with the various ingredients that they have.  We took one with Acai, chia seeds, almonds, hazelnut, and strawberry. It was nice and healthy, although colder than usual. If you have it quickly, you might get a brain-freeze.  In the other one we had acai with condensed milk, strawberry, almonds and chia seeds. I liked the flavour of the condensed milk in this one.  It's a good place especially if you like to have something healthy.  Click here to salivate
