Wrapchic - JLT
They serve burrittos, quesadillas, nachos and more, but with an Indian twist. Instead of mexican fillings, they have chicken mughlai, prawn amritsari, paneer masala, mutton hyderabadi et al.
All of their items are extremely customizable. You get to choose between tomato rice and pulav rice, red beans and black, the vegetables, the sauces, and of-course the "filling".
I had their bowl with Chole masala filing and the tomato rice, black beans, vegetables, the spicy salsa, cheese, and some hummus. Initially I was apprehensive about the hummus, but it didn't taste bad. Overall I loved it.
Then there was also the Mutton Hyderabadi bowl that we had, and we liked that one too.
We also had a couple of wraps. One with paneer masala, and one with mutton. The fillings tasted good in different combinations too, and the amount of filling was a lot; as much as you'd have in a bowl...which is a lot.
They have a few interesting sides too. Of-course, nachos can't be left out of Mexican food. They call theirs as 'Side Wrapchos', and it is served with a generous amount of toppings that include jalapenos, salsa, cheese, and guacamole. These were really nice.
Another one of their sides is the Wraposa. It is sort of a toasted sandwich, and you can have it with a filling of your choice. We had ours with 'Bombay Aloo' (potato), and it wasn't too bad.
For drinks, I had their mango lassi which was thick and tasted really good.
They don't exactly have desserts, but there's a little something to satisfy your sweet tooth. It is their Nutella sandwich. It comes toasted; doesn't replace a traditional dessert, but it's pretty good by itself.
The staff is friendly and explains you the concept well, so you have an idea what to expect. The best part I liked is that everything is made right in front of you, so you can see what exactly goes in your dish.
The place is truly a fusion of Indian and Mexican food. It is a bit small, but also has a couple of tables outside and is definitely worth a visit.
