Nurai - Lebanese food by the creek

I would like to start by mentioning about the location first. It is beside the Dubai Creek and you get an amazing view of the burj khalifa and the buildings on the other side. Whether you go durin the day or at night, you are sure to love the view.
The restaurant might be a bit confusing to find, but if you follow the map correctly, you'll reach the building. The restaurant has valet parking which costs AED 10.

The ambiance of this place is fantastic. They have a smoking area (indoor and outdoor) as well as a non-smoking. I was invited for a tasting here, and the staff that is really courteous offered to set up the table for us, i.e. get their best dishes for us to try out.
Their chef Charbel came and explained about their dishes. The manager Charbel (yes, he too had the same name) was friendly and ensured that everything went well throughout.

There aren't too many places where I end up liking almost all the dishes, but here I did.

We started with the cold mezzeh which included hummus, moutabel, tabbouleh, labneh, and the fattoush. I really like the fattoush. It was fresh and the pomegranate sauce was just right; not too sour. It had big crispies in it too.

For drinks, we had the strawberry mojito, which looked more like a shake and was really nice.

Even better was the Nurai special shake, which was chocolate flavored and had Oreo in it too!

Then came the hot mezzeh. The Nurai house combo deserves a special mention. It consisted of calamari rings, cheese sticks, french fries, and curly fries which were good. It also had delicious crispy prawns, and the veg spring roll which I really liked a lot. Not to forget one of the best garlic bread

The spicy potato had big pieces and a generous quantity.

We also had the Makanek, which is essentially a spicy Lebanese sausage dipped in pomegranate sauce. This one was made with beef, and tasted delicious.

After this came the mains. Though we didn't have much space left in our tummies, these grills were so good, we could barely keep our hands off them.
One of it was the half boneless chicken. There aren't too many places where I've seen boneless grilled chicken. It was grilled to perfection, and the taste was totally on point; though it felt a tad bit oily. The goodness of chicken, with all the flavors intact, but without the efforts of de-boning it.

There was the mixed grill too. It consisted of chicken and beef skewers which were flavorful, and also kaftas which were very well done. They're served with grilled veggies and a generous amount of fries.

Now we were done; oh wait, desserts.
First we had the profiteroles which are a pastry ball filled with ice-cream and topped with chocolate sauce. These looked really tempting, but tasted alright; felt a bit chewy than what I expected.

After that we had the biscuit au chocolate which is a combination of dark chocolates and biscuits served with ice-cream. This too tasted just about okay.

I wanted to end the experience on a good note, so what better than a chocolate fondant! This was mind blowing. It was warm, and the molten chocolate was heavenly. Served with ice-cream, it made for a sweet ending.

They also serve shisha which is very good and the coal is changed intermittently.

I definitely recommend this place for the lovely food, and especially the creek-side location!
