Ente Malabar

This Kerala restaurant invited me to try out their food and I liked it overall.

They gave us a lemonade of sorts before starting our food.

We started with a soup - the malabar mutton soup made from bone marrow. I really liked the flavour of this one - the spices as well as the bone, which also had a bit of a crispy part of top.

For the appetisers, we had prawn porichatu. The masala on this one was nice and really gave a good flavour to the prawns.

The chicken porichatu was also pretty good. The chicken was well cooked, and the curry leaves added to the flavour.

For our mains, we started with the mutton pepper masala. if you're a fan of black pepper, then you should definitely try this one out. The flavour had seeped right in and the mutton tasted great.

The mulakittatu was served in a big earthen bowl and I really liked the way it was served. It had a tangy flavour to it and the fish taste yummy too.

The meen chatti curry was a fish curry with some spice to it. The gravy was really thin but good to taste.

We had the chicken stew too. it wasn't bad but I'm not personally a fan of anything on the sweeter side for my mains.

We had this with the malabar parota which was soft as expected.

I also liked the appams that were hot and fluffy.

There was pathiri too, but it was a bit chewy though it was thin.

They also have fish fry and we chose the king fish for this one. This one was delicious.

For our dessert, we had payasam ala mode, i.e. payasam with ice-cream. This payasam was different than we've usually had. It tasted okay, and we didn't like it all that much overall.

They also didn't have a couple of dessert from the menu.
