Al Afadhil - mughlai kebabs

This is a small place located in Oud Metha / Karama, and I wouldn't have known about it had my friend not suggested it.

If you go in a small group, you can easily tell them to bring "one of everything" on the menu. This place has a total of about 10 items on their menu. The good thing about this is that they're focused on these dishes and make them extremely well.

Their kebabs are really delicious and this is an understatement.

The Lucknow kebab was my favourite here. It is a flat and big kebab made with some great spices. It just melts in your mouth.
(Sorry for the bad pictures, it was just irresistible, and got disintegrated by the time it came to me)

The Shami kebab was also something which we totally loved. These are small, flat and round, and you get 4 pieces in one portion. These too melt in your mouth.

The Seekh kebab was very flavourful and soft. I'm sure you cannot stop at one bite.

We also had the kofta curry. The meat was soft and well-cooked in this.

The chicken korma was pretty good too. It had the same gravy as the kofta. If you compare this dish with the others, it might not impress you that much.

The dal was a bit thicker than usual, but the taste was good nonetheless.

They bring you hot and thin parathas, freshly made.

The best part though was their lassi. It is thick; and when I say thick, I really mean it. You don't drink this, but you need to eat it with the spoon. It is like a dessert.
One of my friend suggested me to have this with the paratha, and initially I was a bit apprehensive, but it is definitely a good combination.

All the food certainly satisfied our taste-buds to the fullest.

The sad part though is the service. I agree that it was a weekend, and it might be better on weekdays, but I'm going to tell my experience here.  They have just about 3 waiters to take the order and serve, and all the tables seemed to be calling them, and they just couldn't handle the load. Our order took a considerable amount of time to be served (especially considering such limited items on the menu). Also, they got a couple of dishes in the beginning, and since we were 8 of us, they got over in a few minutes. We had to wait for the rest of the dishes to be served. The chicken korma and kofta curry arrived when we were three-fourths through in our meal. Throughout our meal, we had to keep reminding them to get the rest of the parathas, and even the water.

If you're looking for some delicious kebabs that will give you a foodgasm, at the same time you're okay to overlook the service bit, this is the place to go.
