Wok & Co

The ambience of this place was something that left me spellbound. They've got pods with a table inside each, and this feels like your own private space. From most of them, you can also have a look at their see-through kitchen.

They've recently started with their all-you-can-eat promotion which is for only AED 99, and the invited me to try it out. This one does not include beverages and you can't order items from the signature dishes and sushis (except for maki rolls which you can order).

As we were deciding what to order, they got us some prawn crackers with some nice dips.

We started with some dynamite prawns which are my all time favourite. These were crispy and flavourful. The sauce really brought about a good flavour.

They have a good selection of sushis too, and we tried out their california maki. Topped with fish roe (eggs), it tasted really nice. The hint of sauce accentuated the taste of this one.

Not too many places serve duck, but they do, and we had the Aromatic duck. It was served in a roll which was a bit surprizing for me. It tasted a bit dry and just about okay; I was definitely expecting more from it.

For the next dish, I asked the staff for their recommendations and they suggested the Kung Pao Chicken. This is wok fried chicken with a few vegetables and dried chili in schezwan chili oil. This one was really flavourful, and as you must have guessed, a bit spicy too. We really enjoyed this one. The chicken too was cooked well.

We then ordered a Nasi Goreng which is another dish which I'm a fan of. The falf-fried egg on this one was prefectly done. It was served with some prawn crackers on the side. The taste of this one wasn't bad at all, but I was expecting more flavour. I felt it was a bit dry as well.

For desserts, we first had the Lemongrass creme brulee. This combination itself is very innovative. This one tasted quite good, though not everyone would like creme brulee with a lemongrass flavour. It might seem a bit out of place, but if you want to try out something different, you can definitely check this one out.

The next one was the sticky date and ginger pudding. This one felt really dry. The ginger and the date tasted nice but the texture of this one did not feel right.

The dessert that I liked the best was the Pandan cheesecake. This has a typical Asian flavour to it. Initially it took me a few bites to get used to the flavour, but then I was hooked on to it.

All of their dessert have an Asian flavour and if you're used to that, then only you will like them.

The head chef Kiran came to our table and explained us a few dishes and seemed like he really put his heart and soul in the food that he prepared. The manager Harison also took good care of us, and the staff is hospitable overall.

They also try to curb on their wastage, and whatever excess food is left, is donated to a charity.

Ibis has valet parking which is free for two hours once you get it stamped.
