Ayam Elezz

Ayam Elezz is a Lebanese restaurant located in "The Mall" opposite the Jumeirah Beach Hotel. They have a buffet-style brunch for which they had invited me.
They have a smoking and a non-smoking zone. In order to get the good view, you will have to sit in the smoking zone where you can also enjoy a shisha.

They have quite a few starters. There could have been some more variety in the mains though.
For the drinks, they have lemondae, ice tea, and the laban ayran.

They also have live stations - a salad station, an egg station, and a saj station too.
I had the saj with zaatar and cheese which was great, especially since it is served hot and fresh.

This place is high on cheese. Starting from the Shanklish which is a Levantine cheese often mixed with herbs and had with finely chopped vegetables. This was really good. I have seen it at a lot of Middle Eastern restaurants, but not too often in a buffet.

Then there is the braided cheese which was really appealing to look at, and also tasted well.

They also have feta cheese on cucumber which is an interesting way of serving it.

Last but not the least - the Halloumi cheese, and the Kashkaval cheese.

Some of the hot starters include the kibbeh, sambousek and the cheese sticks. I really liked the meat sambousek and the cheese sticks, but the spinach sambousek was a hard and not that good.

They have the "Hummus Ayam Elezz", made with tahina and a mixed vegetable paste herbs, which was nice,

and the fattet hummus which contains yoghurt and tahini tasted very good, but the texture could have been better. The crispies in it were soggy.

They also have the Foul Medammes, and the Balila which are chickpeas based dishes.

For the mains there were the traditional Lebanese dishes.
One of them is the Moghrabieh. It is a dish which is primarily made from small white dough balls. Various spices are added to it, and your choice of meat. This one was made with chicken. The Moghrabieh tasted good especially with the special sauce along with it and rice; the chicken was soft, but didn't have much flavor to it.

Another one was the shish barak which is a dish that has dough balls filled with meat, and these are cooked in yoghurt. I had it for the first time, and it tasted pretty good.

Now coming to the sweets. Middle Eastern cuisine cannot be complete without the kunafa. This one was a cheese kunafa. This tasted delicious. I put a little bit of sugar syrup, and it tasted just right; not overly sweet.

There was "Halwa" which is a Lebanese sweet confection. This was a bit crumbly, but too dense for my liking.

A sweet that really caught my attention was the Raha Bel Biscuit. Raha is the turkish delight, and it is had along with a biscuit. It was something really simple, but I really liked it a lot. The Raha wasn't too sticky or hard, and also had the right amount of sweetness to it.

The staff is attentive.
The tables are a bit close to each other and I did not like that too much.
Overall, it is worth trying out for the traditional Lebanese dishes that they serve.
