Volt Kitchen
Right from the name itself, this place sounds like it is a high energy one, and from my experience, I can tell you that you are sure to love it. From the time I entered, or actually even before that, you feel welcomed.
The staff is very courteous, and guided us to a table. Since I was invited here, they told me about their best-sellers from each section so that we can try the best of their food. Most of it was fantastic, and I loved every bit of the experience here.
We started with their Rainbow fries. These are fries with four types of cheese, jalapenos, and more, and they are delicious. The quantity is quite a bit so it would be good for sharing among 2-3 people.
For the drinks, we had a lemon mint juice which was nice, and a cold spanish latte which felt refreshing and sweet too.
Now who doesn't love the classic mac and cheese? We all do. These guys though how can they make it different. So they made the mini macs which is a small and crispy version of the same. This tasted superb with the tomato based sauce that it is served with. It is cheesy and flavorful.
Moving on to the delicious sliders that they've got, we choose something non-conventional - the lobster slider. This one is served cold. There is a generous amount of lobster in it, and some lettuce too. This was very good too. Perhaps they could also put some more things in it.
I'm not a fan of sushi (raw fish and rice), and so when they told me about the various types of sushis that are their specialties, I wasn't too excited at first. My friend was excited about the crab sushi, so we ordered the rock crab roll. I hesitantly took a bite, and God I was so wrong about sushi. I totally loved this one to bits. Their sushi isn't raw. It is baked. This particular one has black and white sesame seeds along with the rice too, and some avocado too. One bite after dipping it into the soy sauce, and I was left craving for more. The wasabi and the ginger makes it even better. Definitely try their sushi. It is far from the conventional one.
Among the mains, their specialty is the steak, bu we weren't in the mood for it so we ordered the VK chicken. This dish is baked with cheese. Baked cheese of-course makes things better. So obviously this had to taste good, which it did. It is served along with mashed potato and mushrooms. Compared to their specialties that we had before this, this seemed just average; though by itself, it was great.
There was a small part here which I didn't quite like. Some of the sauce from the chicken had spilled on the table. While cleaning, the lady cleaned this and proceeded to clean the whole table with the same cloth which made it spread all over. No cleaning liquid was used, and this was a bit unnerving.
Lets come to the sweet endings now. After seeing the photos of the chocolate bomb, I had to order it. There is ice-cream, brownies, chocolate, and this is heavenly. You simply gotta try this one. No words or photos can do justice. Below is a video which might come close to describing what it was like.
Another dish was the classic pancake. It is a stack of pancakes with maple syrup, ice-cream, and berries. This was really filling and huge. We really loved it, but couldn't finish it after all that food.
I loved the ambiance of this place too. It has a black theme, with small yellow spotlights on the side. Also, outside you can see the trees which add a feel of nature too.
Mervin the manager took good care of us, and Juvy served us with a smile and explained all the items in detail.
A place I would certainly recommend visiting.
