That place - contemporary fast food in karama

There used to be that place (pun intended) in Jumeriah until it was taken over by someone else and brought to Karama. They have contemporary food and an interesting fusion of sorts that they invited me to try out.

The following review contains a lot of vegetarian friendly items.

They've got some interesting buns here. We started with their wild potato bun. Being a lover of potatoes, I really liked this bun, especially with the cream cheese and crispy cheetos on top.

An interesting item that I saw on the menu was the cheese burst chicken birayani bun and I just had to try it out. This is chicken biryani served inside a bread. The biryani was delicious; it was flavourful, and I could barely stop having this. Although, it wasn't cheesy as the name said, and also the bread that it was served with, was more so to make it like an attractive novelty. It was thick and hard, and was neither easy to have with the biryani, and nor did it go well.

Fries are something I can have anytime, and these guys had the Tun Tun Fries that are with maggi (curry flavour), topped with some melted cheese. Had the goodness of the desi maggi as well as the comforting feel of the fries. I definitely recommend this for anyone who remotely likes fries.

We had some pasta too. The good thing is that you can customise your pasta, and they do not have pre-set option. You first choose the sauce, then your pasta, and finally the toppings. We chose the red sauce with spaghetti, and added some broccoli, chilli flakes, sliced black olives, and jalapenos. The pasta tasted okay. Firstly, this wasn't like the red sauce that I was expecting. It was pinkish and on the creamier side than the tangier. Also, the spaghetti wasn't long; it felt like they had cut it into small pieces which according to me defeats the purpose of it being a spaghetti. By itself, the pasta tasted alright.

You can rarely go wrong with lotus, and so I ordered their Lotus milkshake. It came in a fancy glass that looked like a chemistry apparatus. The milkshake tasted really nice; it wasn't very thick, but just about the right consistency.

For dessert, we had the chocolate palace. It comes with a bun filled with flowing chocolate ganache and a brownie topped with ice-cream. I found the ganache filled bun to be irresistible. The flowing ganache would definitely give a sugar rush. The brownie and the ice-cream tasted good as well.

It is a small place with good food, and nice interiors that have a green, pink and white theme.  Oh, another thing, I was totally loving the selection of songs that they had on this particular day - old English songs.
