Buns and Cones Loaded

The "loaded" after buns & cones is certainly justified and you'll know why once you see the dishes.
I was invited by a lovely blogger couple to try out this place.

The place has a bit of a rustic feel to it, and isn't too big, but serves some amazing stuff.

We saw them making some mocktails that looked really interesting and we just had to try those out.
As we waited for them to be made, we munched on some fresh home-made potato crisps.

The first one was the Hurricane Bianca. This one is smokey, served in a glass skull, and contains mango, passion fruit, coconut, and some chilli. This was definitely my favourite mocktail here.

Then we had the coco-loco'lita. This one is served in a young coconut. They use the water that is in this same Thai coconut, and mix it with some tropical juices. This was very refreshing and was smokey too.

There was also a shake and we found it irresistible. It was called the maltezer; made form the Maltesers chocolate spheres with milk, and ice-cream. I finished half of it in one sip, and then I took one more sip. :-p

For our food, we started with the trio killer cone. This dish has three cones. One of them has dynamite prawns in it, the second one has bacon mac & cheese, and the third cheetos popcorn chicken. I liked the chicken the best, though the prawns were also pretty good.

A fan of the mac & cheese? Here's presenting the lobster mac n cheese. As the name suggests, it is with lobster meat. We didn't find all that much of the lobster meat in it. It did not taste bad, but not something that you'd go crazy about.

I'm a huge fan of fries. They have something called the wallbreaker on their menu. These are loaded fries. They're loaded with melted cheese sauce, smoked kidney beans, spicy beef, frunze sauce, sour cream, and fried onions. These were one of the best loaded fries I've had. There have been times when I did not like loaded fries much since they were so loaded that I could barely taste the fries, but this was not like that. I could actually feel the melange of flavours in my mouth. Also, it is served through a can...from which they pour it in your plate.

We then tried their sliders; these come in red buns. One was called the Wakey-Bakey. It had pulled beef short ribs, a sunny side up, crispy beef bacon, cheese, and maple syrup. Since I totally love eggs, and bacon, it did taste really good. The maple syrup added a just a tad bit of sweetness to it.

The other one was the Colt45. This also has beef bacon, angus beef, cheddar, and wasabi sauce. Though the description looks interesting, the taste was just about average.

Hands-down the best burger here was the Land sea & air. Named so since it contains beef (land), prawns (sea), and chicken (air). This also has cheddar in it, and frunze sauce that makes this taste excellent. If you want to have a burger here, this is the one.

Last but not the least, we also tried the daunt chicken. The buttermilk chicken is kept between salted donuts. I personally did not like it. The buns (or salted donuts in this case) were crispy and that's not what I want my burger to be like. But those who like chicken waffles, loved it.

We then had a dish that left us awestruck. The beef short rib. It was made in coffee sauce. It was one of the softest meat that I've seen on a short-rib. You could just use a fork, and it would come off effortlessly. It was served along with mashed potato.  Also, they smoke it right in front of you. The smoke really takes the flavours to the next level.

Now let's come to the sweet endings.
We had the pistachio princess which is a vanilla sponge that is smothered with pistachio butter, cream, pistachio custard, strawberry coulis, and ice-cream. It really tasted fantastic. I especially liked it since it did not get overly sweet. It was just right.

Then was the s'more burrito. This one is served warm. It's got melted marshmallows, Nutella, chocolate sauce inside a mini burrito, and is topped with raspberry foam. It looked really appealing, though it wasn't personally to my liking. The burrito felt a bit chewy for a dessert and it tasted alright. A few others did really like it though.

My favourite one were the Lotus Tacos. These are waffle tacos that contain ice-cream and lots of lotus. They're served on the back of a dinosaur. Get your hands dirty and relish this one. It is quite a simple dish, and you get the unadulterated flavours of lotus and ice-cream. It might be too simple compared to the others, but this is the dessert that I loved the most.

We were really full after all of this, and when the friendly manager asked if we'd like anything, we said no. Then he said they have red velvet hot chocolate.
Whaaa?!!! Yes Yes Yes
It was something really sweet and unique indeed, and definitely worth a try.

They also had Spanish latte which I tried. I personally liked the strong flavours of the coffee, but I was expecting a Spanish latte to be a bit sweeter which it wasn't.

Finding parking here might be a tad bit difficult. You might find parking on Jumeirah road, or there is a parking lot somewhere behind the mosque too.

This place is definitely worth a visit for a burst of flavours and some unique fast food.
